Jesus teaches us to do good to others. He says that if we love Him we will love our neighbor as ourselves. That same love we have for God we will give to our fellow men. If we find someone in need we will give them our services willingly. We will do it in love. We will have joy in helping others in need. We won’t just pass them by but we will stop and care for them. We will feed the hungry and clothe the naked.
Let us not do charity based on a reward but because we love God. Everything we do should be for the Lord and because we love Him. Let us not boast about helping someone. We shouldn’t brag about it to friends and family. By doing so it is no longer out of love but out of pride. Let love be a part of our lives so that each day we wake up and have a desire to help someone. This shouldn’t be a struggle but something we automatically want to do. Let us help others in secret. Sure no one will know what we did but the Lord will and will bless us abundantly.
I give my heart to You Jesus. Where You go I will go. You are my light. Guide me to the needy. Guide me to the sick. Guide me to the hungry. Let me feel their hearts with Your Love. If they are in need of my time I will give it. If they are hungry I will feed them. Let me speak of You and bring them to You. I pray for all those in need that they may have the hand of the Lord in their lives. I love You Lord!
1 “Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven.
2 Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.
3 But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,
4 that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.
