Be Filled With God’s Word Daily

How can we know how to live our life for Jesus if we aren’t reading His word daily?  Every day is new and if we don’t find time for His word in that day than it will be so much more easy to stumble and fall.  I’ve talked to many people and they feel like they get filled with the word on Sunday.  They praise Him that day and feel like they have honored Him but throughout the week they wonder why life was so different.  Why it was so difficult to follow Him.  It is because they didn’t truly seek him throughout the week.  They had lost Him in their heart.  The Lord not only desires for us to listen to His word through a church sermon but He also desires that we come to know Him for ourselves.  We can’t always rely on another person’s love for Jesus.  We need to find out His truths in our own lives each day.

If we don’t seek Him for ourselves we will fall and make bad choices.  Why is this?  Because we didn’t make time for the Lord to teach us how to live.  We didn’t learn how to put Him first.  He wasn’t a shield in time of need.  Let us arise and stand forth among others.  Let us be a light to this generation.  Let us not be soft in our faith in Jesus.  Let us lift His name in praise each day.  The Lord knows who diligently seeks Him.  Are you one of them?  I hope and pray that we will make time for the Lord every day in our homes.  That we will read the Word of God with our family.  That we will pray as a family.  That we will make each day a day of devotion to our Lord Jesus.  That we might know Him better and learn of His truths each day.

Lord, I love You.  I love your word.  It speaks to my soul.  It is alive in me.  Each day as I read your holy scripture it becomes a treat to read.  The words just jump off the pages.  I am so thankful for the Bible.  It is a light to my life.  When I lived only for you on Sunday I was so lost.  I relied on others for your truth.  You weren’t in my life.  I was so prideful in everything.  I was not wise with money.  I kept making one mistake after another.  I never knew what I was doing wrong.  However, I do now.  What I was missing was You.  I didn’t have your word in my life.  I didn’t have you in my heart through prayer.  I didn’t have a map to follow.  I didn’t give my life to you fully.  Lord, may I continue to seek you.  For I am safe in your word.  I know now how to live my life as I seek You daily.

Psalm 119:101-105
101 I have restrained my feet from every evil way, That I may keep Your word.
102 I have not departed from Your judgments, For You Yourself have taught me.
103 How sweet are Your words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth!
104 Through Your precepts I get understanding; Therefore I hate every false way.
105 Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.
