When Marriage Is Hard Seek The Lord

When the world is crashing down on me it is so hard to pray.  When love isn’t in my heart it is so easy just to lash out at my wife.  Even when I am seeking the Lord I know that Satan is working hard to bring me down.  These are times when Satan loves to put thoughts of hate in my heart.  He loves to tell me that I’d be happier with someone else.  Someone that would love me and I could love back in return.  That I’d be happier if I had another job.  A job that paid more money so that finances wouldn’t be so hard.  All of us feel this way on occasion.  It is how we deal with it that makes a difference.  We can either continue feeling this way or come to the Lord in prayer.  If we come to the Lord he will give us strength to pull through the situation we are in.  He knows what we need and will deliver it the more we seek Him.

All of us need to develop a closer relationship with the Lord.  Only by doing so will we start to love one another with an unconditional love.  We will pray as a couple so that we can both develop a greater love for each other.  We will start complementing each other.  We will start doing things for each other.  We will read the Bible as a couple.   We will learn how to make do with the money we are bringing in from our job.  The thing that will be most important will be to grow closer as a couple and a family.  I pray that I will not only grow closer to the Lord but that I will grow closer to my wife.  That I will focus more on my wife’s needs.  That I will look into my own life and change anything that is causing a wedge to form between us.  I know that by doing these things that the Lord will bless me.  The Lord loves us all and desires for us to be happy.  If we aren’t happy now in our marriage than strive to do the necessary things to make things better.  Seek the Lord and he will bless you.

Colossians 3:14-19
14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
18 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter toward them.
