The Lord promises that as we come to know Him His blessings will rain down upon us. His faithful will one day obtain life eternal. Those that come to know Him through prayer and the Word of God are separate from the world. We have been clothed with the armor of God. As we trust in the Lord we will find ways to overcome temptation. He will help tame the lusts of the flesh that has taken us over in the past. Our inner addictions will be replaced by our passion for the Lord. As life throws curve balls at us we will know how to respond. Even rough times will turn out to be meaningful as we trust in God. Nothing will be too difficult to bare when the Lord is with us. He will help carry our burdens that they may be light. When storms are close the Lord will never be too far away
How blessed is it to come to know the Lord through prayer and reading the Bible. Each day that I seek Him I feel stronger. I want to always feel His touch in my life. He has lead me by the hand and shown me how to walk. I have no need to fear for He is with me. He loves me and wants the best for me. He teaches me how to live for Him and love others. As I lean on Him my heart is comforted. He listens to my problems and answers my prayers. It is easy to talk to Him for He is my God and my best friend. I am forever grateful that He found compassion upon me when all seemed lost. My life was a mess and He still saw potential in me. He took me in and gave me a new heart. His love captured my soul. He has shown me how to live again. I long to know Him better and feel His presence.
2 Peter 1:2-4
1 Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:
2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,
3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,
4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
