Counsel With The Lord

God keeps us all at the highest standard. If we start on the path of righteousness He expects that we finish it. If we have been given counsel from the Lord abide by it. We will be accountable for everything the Lord has given us. If we declare ourselves to be men and women of God He desires that we live our life this way. Take hold of the commandments and live them. Abide by the truths of the Bible. Give your mind over to God in prayer. Let your hearts be knit with love. We are His people and we are to stand apart from the world. Each day that we live, seek after the Lord. If something sounds contrary to God’s will seek His counsel and abide by it. Don’t seek your own wisdom or those of another over God. Consequences will be reaped if we are led by another gospel outside the Bible. Keep Him close to your heart that His truths will be made manifest in your life. The Lord will never lead us astray.

Jesus knows that each of us make mistakes. We don’t always hold to everything we promised Him. We fall so many times. In all this the Lord still loves us. He gives us grace through trials. He is always waiting for our return. If you have fallen, get right back on the saddle. Ask the Lord for forgiveness. Be sincere in your actions with the Lord. He will comfort you when you seek Him for strength. He will be your light in the darkness. The closer He is in our lives the less we will falter from His path. Let Him lead you in all your ways. Be passionate in the ways of the Lord. Let Him know the intensions of your heart. Seek to serve Him till the end. It will be a blessed day for all the faithful that meet the Lord in heaven. Those that left the Lord’s path and never returned will one day face Him in fear. I pray that we continue in the faith and look forward to the day that we can greet our Savior with joy in heaven.

1 Kings 13:11,15-18,20-22
11 Now an old prophet dwelt in Bethel, and his sons came and told him all the works that the man of God had done that day in Bethel; they also told their father the words which he had spoken to the king.
15 Then he said to him, “Come home with me and eat bread.”
16 And he said, “I cannot return with you nor go in with you; neither can I eat bread nor drink water with you in this place.
17 For I have been told by the word of the Lord, ‘You shall not eat bread nor drink water there, nor return by going the way you came.’”
18 He said to him, “I too am a prophet as you are, and an angel spoke to me by the word of the Lord, saying, ‘Bring him back with you to your house, that he may eat bread and drink water.’” (He was lying to him.)
20 Now it happened, as they sat at the table, that the word of the Lord came to the prophet who had brought him back;
21 and he cried out to the man of God who came from Judah, saying, “Thus says the Lord: ‘Because you have disobeyed the word of the Lord, and have not kept the commandment which the Lord your God commanded you,
22 but you came back, ate bread, and drank water in the place of which the Lord said to you, “Eat no bread and drink no water,” your corpse shall not come to the tomb of your fathers.’”
