Live For God

If we live for God we are spiritually minded. If we live for the world we are carnally minded. “For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” If we say we love God and still walk in the flesh we are deceiving ourselves. We will never truly know Jesus if we don’t walk in His ways. Can we truly be comfortable with our lives if we are living for ourselves? “For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.” If we love the Lord we will walk “according to the Spirit.” If we go to church on Sunday but live for ourselves during the week then God cannot be with us. We must give up a life of sin and follow Jesus. “Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.” God is not glorified when most of our time is given over to our own desires. We can achieve temporary joy by what the world offers. It can feel amazing in the moment. However, with all of these feelings comes heartache and pain. We might feel like we are on top of the world one moment in our life and the next feel anguish and depressed. Nothing compares to the love of Jesus. Surrender all to Him. Turn to Christ alone. Live for the One who gives life. Those that give there their hearts over to the Lord are given eternal life. His love has no end. His kindness radiates brighter than the sun. Come to Jesus and feel His Holy presence.

Many times I can feel the presence of sin raging before me. It tries to take a hold me. Sin will try its best to grasp you tight and not let you go. When it has you, it isn’t just Satan that has a hold of your life it is you willfully accepting it. The devil presents sin in a fashion that is pleasing to the eye. It arouses our faculties. He knows what makes us tick and what our weaknesses are. Beautiful woman with hardly any clothing may be presented to us in an ad. You may stumble upon drugs that you were once influenced. People may come into your life and lure you into your old ways. We must control our lusts before God. If we are easily given over to the flesh than there is something wrong with our lives. We can’t fix our addictions on our own. A change of heart needs to start with God. He needs to be the center piece of our desire for change. We need to be sincere before Him. If our hearts are truly broken before God He will lift our burdens. He will hear our cries and make a way that we might escape the chains of sin. The more you seek Him the more you will follow in His ways. You will have found a new home in Christ Jesus. His love will come over you and give you rest. Nothing compares to His love. Come to know the Lord and you will find a joy that never ends. Oh Lord, You matter most in my life. You burn within my soul. Stay with me always. You’ve given me something greater than anyone can offer.

Romans 8:1,5-8
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.
8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
