Marriage That Trusts In God

Let the Lord dwell in your heart always. Meditate on Him and learn of His ways. Seek wisdom for He is all knowing. The Lord knows exactly what we need. He is there to bear each of us up because of His love. How amazing is His love. Isn’t it awesome that He could love us so much that He’d die for us. I am redeemed because of His mercy. To think on the Lord brings me great joy. Our soul is encouraged each day that we trust in Him. Isaac put his trust in the One True God. He was found meditating “in the field” at the time when Rebecca was coming to meet him for the first time. His sights were on God. For this He was blessed, as Rebecca listened to the Holy Spirit and came for him. She did not know Isaac but trusted in God’s will for her life. She knew that God would provide a righteous man for her. A man that is faithful and trusted in God. It was then that Isaac saw Rebecca coming on a camel. She also saw Isaac and lifted her eyed to behold him. They had caught each other’s eyes and were won over by love. So she said, “who is this man walking in the field to meet us?” Her servant replied, “it is my master.” She then “took a veil and covered herself”. As a gentleman, Isaac then took her by the hand and brought her to his tent. The joy in His heart was full. They soon married and let the Lord direct their lives. Their marriage was built on the Lord. It’s this unselfish love that brought them together. She was the love of his life. Learn from Isaac and discover a new love for your spouse. Let the Lord’s love deepen your love.

As we put our trust in God all things are possible. His promises are true. We can look to Him to find our answers. If we let Him in, He will lead us to our one true love in Christ. To think that God saved the very best woman for me is amazing. She brings me great joy. The day of our marriage was the greatest day of my life. I knew in my heart that God had helped me find a woman with a great heart for God. I had a lot to learn as I became a husband and father but she stuck through it all for me. I was so prideful in my early years of the marriage but she always saw the best in me. Now that I’ve rediscovered the Lord I want to show her how much she truly means to me. The Lord surely helps us know what is most important in our life. He helps us love more deeply for others. I know that I am not the best husband but with the Lord I can do better. I can be kinder. I can listen better. I can ask forgiveness when I falter. I can agree more often. I can do things around the house daily. I can tell her and the kids how much they mean to me. I can hug and kiss my wife more. I can do things out of the ordinary for her. Thank You Lord for teaching me how to be a better husband and father to my wife and kids. You are the light in my life. My hope is to lead my family in your love all the days of my life. Nothing will bring me more joy than to be with You and my family in heaven. You are the bearer of all good news. I love reading your words. Your teachings bear me up when I am down. You are always there for me. Your love is amazing.

Genesis 24:57-67
57 So they said, “We will call the young woman and ask her personally.”
58 Then they called Rebekah and said to her, “Will you go with this man?” And she said, “I will go.”
59 So they sent away Rebekah their sister and her nurse, and Abraham’s servant and his men.
60 And they blessed Rebekah and said to her: “Our sister, may you become The mother of thousands of ten thousands; And may your descendants possess The gates of those who hate them.”
61 Then Rebekah and her maids arose, and they rode on the camels and followed the man. So the servant took Rebekah and departed.
62 Now Isaac came from the way of Beer Lahai Roi, for he dwelt in the South.
63 And Isaac went out to meditate in the field in the evening; and he lifted his eyes and looked, and there, the camels were coming.
64 Then Rebekah lifted her eyes, and when she saw Isaac she dismounted from her camel;
65 for she had said to the servant, “Who is this man walking in the field to meet us?” The servant said, “It is my master.” So she took a veil and covered herself.
66 And the servant told Isaac all the things that he had done.
67 Then Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah’s tent; and he took Rebekah and she became his wife, and he loved her. So Isaac was comforted after his mother’s death.
