Forgive One Another

Just as we need to love the Lord with all our hearts we also need to love others. If we have a hard heart against anyone, than the love of God is missing from our lives. When there is hate for another there is no place for God. If you have found yourselves in a difficult place with friends or loved ones I plead for God to mend your heart. Ask that His love may come into your life. That your actions may be a witness of your love for Him. Let the love of God sink into your soul. If we are open the Lord will change our hearts and help us become a better person. Since Jacob loved the Lord he did what He asks and made a contract with his father in law, Laban, to no longer be enemies but be friends. He said, “Here is this heap and here is this pillar, which I have placed between you and me.” He would “not pass beyond this heap and this pillar to me, for harm”. This is a great example of how to mend any relationship that is broken. To be sorry for our actions speaks volumes of the person we are.

There have been many times where I’ve said something that has offended someone.  For a while things weren’t the same.  It was always awkward to be over at their house.  There were grudges put in place.  It seemed like there was a pillar between me and the other person.  This went on way to long.  All this changed when I discovered the love of Jesus in my life.  I no longer want to be a burden to anyone.  If I accidentally hurt anyone, I want them to know how sorry I am.  It is a big relief to say sorry.  It is like a huge rock lifted off my shoulders.  Just as Jesus has forgiven me so many times it would only be right for me to forgive one another.  How can we expect the Lord to forgive us if we don’t forgive others.  If any of you are offended, forgive.  If any of you have offended, apologize.  Let go of your pride.  Oh Lord, we believe in You.  Teach us to love with all our hearts.  Teach us to forgive one another. Teach us to apologize more often.  Cast away any anger in our hearts. May your peace be upon us always. Your ways are good. Lead us, oh Lord.  We love You.

Genesis 31:45-54
45 So Jacob took a stone and set it up as a pillar.
46 Then Jacob said to his brethren, “Gather stones.” And they took stones and made a heap, and they ate there on the heap.
47 Laban called it Jegar Sahadutha, but Jacob called it Galeed.
48 And Laban said, “This heap is a witness between you and me this day.” Therefore its name was called Galeed,
49 also Mizpah, because he said, “May the Lord watch between you and me when we are absent one from another.
50 If you afflict my daughters, or if you take other wives besides my daughters, although no man is with us—see, God is witness between you and me!”
51 Then Laban said to Jacob, “Here is this heap and here is this pillar, which I have placed between you and me.
52 This heap is a witness, and this pillar is a witness, that I will not pass beyond this heap to you, and you will not pass beyond this heap and this pillar to me, for harm.
53 The God of Abraham, the God of Nahor, and the God of their father judge between us.” And Jacob swore by the Fear of his father Isaac.
54 Then Jacob offered a sacrifice on the mountain, and called his brethren to eat bread. And they ate bread and stayed all night on the mountain.
