Our Belief In Jesus

I often hear people say that they believe in Jesus when I approach someone on the streets, or in conversation with a friend or family member. When asked if they believe in Him, often times they say, “of course, I believe in Jesus”. But then I ask, “do you read the Bible?”. Then, a moment of silence normally occurs before they say, “No” or “sometimes” or “I’ve read it a couple of times”. So then, I respond, “how can you believe in Him who you do not know?” Do these people truly believe in Jesus? Let’s see what the Word of God says about our belief. Paul teaches, “faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” He also says, “how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard?” God’s words are alive and when we read them or listen to someone teach from the Bible our faith is strengthened. The faith we develop with God becomes our belief system. Without God in our lives our faith is dead and our belief in Him does not exist. Anyone not born again is only saying empty words when they say they believe in Jesus. For even Satan and his demons know Him and tremble. The Lord does not know those who don’t need Him. I pray that you accept Jesus and His sacrifice on the cross in your hearts. Read the Bible and you will be driven to live a life for Him and not yourselves. Study God’s Word and do as the Lord commands. Your faith will be made whole as you listen to God’s counsel in your life. Pray often that you may know His will for your lives. Call upon the name of the Lord and seek to know Him. You are saved as you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe in Him. All those living for Jesus are not ashamed for they are saved through His mercy and grace.

Repent and come to Jesus to be saved. Come to know Him personally as your Lord and Savior. A relationship will be built as you read the Holy Bible. Give head to the Holy Spirit in your hearts and minds and God will give you new direction for your lives. You will gain insight on where to go when all doors seem to be closed. Pray often and you will find rest in the presence of God. When you make Jesus Lord of your lives your old way of living becomes an afterthought as you are made a new creation in Him. As you live for Christ, reading the Bible and praying will no longer be a chore but a humbling experience to learn from our King. Giving Him praise and honor will be the least we can do for what He has done for us. For we are born again into His righteousness. We were lost in our sins until He had mercy on our souls. His forgiveness has made us white as snow. We are no longer lost but found in the arms of Jesus. There is true joy through Jesus Christ. There is life eternal through Him. I am made holy in His presence. Nothing I could ever have done could make me righteous without the manifestation of Jesus in my life. I am loved by the Lord of the heavens and earth. The Good Shepherd has welcomed me into His fold. Thank You Lord for accepting me though my life was in shambles. I was so wicked and full of shame but You raised me up and gave me hope. My old way of living is in the past and now I look to You. My eyes have been opened to Your light and beauty. Your beauty radiates all around me. I am captured by Your love that is in me. You are the Lord of my Life. I am made strong each day that I follow You. Your words are true and are an anchor to my soul. I love You.

Romans 10:9,10,11,13,14,17 (KJV)
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

  2. Lee, I do not know who you are but if you continue reading the devotions on this site, along with checking out the rest of the content, then you will know that I am the Lord’s servant. The Lord Jesus is the light of my life and therefore, I do all I can to lead souls to Christ. Again, I am not sure why a born again Christian, that you say you are, cannot determine my heart through these messages. Anyhow, God bless you in your journey in following the Lord God. May He richly bless you and guide your steps. -Paul
