Confession Is Necessary

Come to Jesus. Forsake your sins this day. Confess them before God and others you’ve hurt. Tell them you are sorry. Your confession is necessary for God’s forgiveness and for you to become clean. Nothing you do on earth is hidden but is all revealed in the presence of God. The books will be opened at judgement and you will be judged according to your works. Only the Lord can give you a clean slate. Just think of the weight that will be lifted off your shoulders once you have confessed your sins. No more secrets and lies. Bring it all out of the closet. It will all come to light, one day, anyways, one way or another. To anyone you have sinned against make it public knowledge to them as soon as possible. Tell them you are sorry. Plead for their forgiveness. It isn’t worth a lost relationship for selfish reasons in our lives. If we love God and we’ve kept our past indiscretions from the person or people we love then there will be a day that you will be pricked to share the truth. God will ask you to be an open book to those you love. Heed His wise counsel before your days are numbered. The longer you wait the harder it will be for the person to trust you again, after they hear the truth. God will help you through the hard times if you are being honest to those you love. Telling the truth is hard but is necessary, no matter the outcome.

If you have recently done something wrong against a person you love then tell them what you’ve done immediately and request their forgiveness. Express how it made you feel and that it won’t happen again. If you are among those that have kept secrets in your heart for years based on a very personal manner, no longer let it fester inside of you. Go to the person you have hurt, and confess what you did. They will know how you sorry you are in the way you tell them. Confession will feel like a weight was lifted off your shoulders. However, this isn’t the end. The person you confessed this to, may feel deeply wronged and offended. It may take some time for that person to trust you again but it will be worth it. It is the first step to reconciliation with them and God. Confession before men, women and God shows humility. We may have walked deceitfully for years but in this hour God is overcome with joy. For we have decided it is more important to be honest and do His will then to feel comfortable in life. Oh Lord, I am among those that have kept secrets from those I love. It is your conviction that has helped me open up to them. I pray that you will forgive me for keeping secrets. I also pray that those affected by my secret life will, one day, forgive me. I love You, and it is my desire to only follow you and no longer walk in sin.

Luke 12:1-3 (KJV)
1 In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
2 For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.
3 Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.

James 5:16 (KJV)
16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

1 John 1:6-10 (KJV)
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Revelation 20:11-15 (KJV)
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
