In Our Sins, Come To God in Prayer

When we are in sin come to God in prayer. He knows your sorrows and is merciful to those that seek Him. There are many avenues we can choose to help with our pains but only one way yields eternal satisfaction. We can substitute other things in our lives to hide our lustful desires but we are still weak if God isn’t with us. The temptations of the devil will penetrate us to the heart. We can try to escape it but our flesh is too weak and we are apt to fall. The only way we can go forward in life and not fall victim to sin is with the Lord on our side. If He is in our lives then He is also our shield and our fortress. He fights for our cause when we are in harm’s way. The battle will rage on but we are equipped with the Word of God on our side. If we are His, then we are in His light and darkness has no power over us. For this reason, it is so important to get on God’s side. Give everything you are to Him. Everything that has tied you down, let It all go. 3Confess your sins openly to Him and 2those you have hurt. Tell the person and God sorry for what you’ve done. Plead for the Lord’s mercy that He may have compassion and restore you into His light. Understand that His wrath is for the wicked and that He is just in His judgments. If your heart is sincere than He will forgive you. He paid the price your sins long ago on the cross. He is just waiting for people to trust in Him. If you are willing to follow in His ways than you will be welcomed into His fold. He will remember you when you call upon His Name and have sympathy for what you’ve done. He will open His arms to receive you and welcome you home.

Hear the words of David when He was convicted of his sins, 1“O Lord, rebuke me not in thine anger, neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure. Have mercy upon me, O Lord; for I am weak: O Lord, heal me.” He knew that God was upset and pleaded for His mercy. His cries were sincere as he knew that only God could restore him from death to life. He said, 1“O Lord, deliver my soul: oh save me for thy mercies’ sake.” He goes on to say that this is the time to be made right with the Lord. He didn’t want to wait any longer to make the right decision and come to Jesus. For this, He asked the Lord to hear his cries and not let evil doers afflict him any longer. His will was that God would be his shield when his enemies attack him. He was confident that God is listening to his pleadings and that He understands them plainly. He trusted that God would provide when He said, 1“The Lord hath heard my supplication; the Lord will receive my prayer.” I pray that each of us will have this much faith to know that God will hold true to His promises. Trust that God will help you through your trials and He will. Your faith will make you whole in His presence.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I am grateful for Your mercy. When I cry out to you for forgiveness you could very well give up on me but instead You take me right back in. You hear my cries and help me through my pains. When I seek Your face, I can feel Your light abounding in my soul. It radiates within me. Your presence helps me make better choices. I am not alone for You are helping me through everything. You are my shield. I am stronger with You in my life. I love You. Amen.
