We are all sinners when we walk in our own ways. Our thoughts can often be unclean when the Lord is not in us. 4We don’t have any armor to fight against temptation if God isn’t there to back us up. We are like sitting ducks when Satan comes to tempt us and try us. The strength in our bodies has no match to the power of the enemy. We can try all we want to, to be strong but He knows what makes us tick. He knows what our flesh most enjoys. He can see the lust in our flesh and how it longs to be stimulated. Even though, the guilt is terrible, He brings to our attention the joy we felt in the brief moment of our sin. He tells us that we must experience it again to find joy. However, what the devil doesn’t inform us of is the heavy guilt that accompanies all sin. There is much darkness that comes from it. We can find joy in the momentary pleasures of this world but none of it is lasting. All things will eventually turn to dust. It isn’t worth living a life of headache and pain. if we would just let God speak to us, we will feel remorseful for what we’ve done. This life of brokenness is not the prescribed way of living. God always wanted us to live in His love. For this reason, Jesus came down and died for our sins, on the cross. 3That whosoever believeth in Him is saved. Saved from a life addiction and shame. He puts a new heart in the believer and helps them desire better things. He helps us bridal our tongue. He helps us have clean thoughts. He helps us think about others over ourselves.
In Psalm 39, David said, 1“I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.” He acknowledged that nothing good comes from a person that is unkind with their words. Our tongues can get us into a lot of trouble. The Lord can see how hot our tempers can get if we don’t learn to know when to stop. It is important to let God help us to know what to speak. Often times, what we desire, is foolishness. It is vanity for we think that we know better than others. It is better to listen than to be listened to. It is better to be counseled than to give counsel. We must learn to humble ourselves before others and God. Desire to learn from one another. Seek the counsel of God, in order to gain wisdom. We are able to walk in the light of Christ when are open to learn from Him. Your trust in God tells people a lot about who you are. David prayed, 1“And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee. Deliver me from all my transgressions: make me not the reproach of the foolish.” He trusted in the Lord to deliver him from sin. He could not do it alone. He acknowledged that He was foolish to try to live better on his own. If you are living a life of sin, then pray out to give and say 1“Hear my prayer, O Lord, and give ear unto my cry”. If you are sincere in your desire to repent, the Lord will come and break your chains of addiction. His love for you is greater than all the evil desires of your heart. He can take all that and give you freedom to walk in His light.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, give me clean hands and a pure heart. Help me say kind words to others. Help me see the interests of others before mine own. Give me desires to love one another without receiving any in return. Help me to give more than take. Be near, Lord, all my days. I am weak without You. You give me ways to live a better live. 2You help stay on the straight and narrow path. I know that I am loved by You. For I was a sinner and You forgave me. You didn’t turn Your back on me but the potential inside of me. You are my strength. You are the rock of my salvation. Lead me from sin and to walk in Your light. Hear my prayers, for I need Your guidance. What You have to say for my life means more than anything. I love You. Amen.
