Repent And Abide In The Lord

Will you look at yourself in the mirror, as God would see you? Do not wait for death, to be judged, just to know how far you have lived from God’s will. 6It is fearful to stand before the living God, while being unworthy. You don’t want to be judged unworthily and be sent to hell. Get right with God now! Evaluate your life, and the things you say and do, with God’s Word. Your ways are not higher than the Lord’s and if you are living off base than come to God with it and repent. Give it all to Him. If you are reading the Bible, you will be convicted of your sins. If you are not reading the Bible, then start today. How can you abide in the ways of the Lord, if you are not reading His Word and doing what He says. The truth is, you cannot. Without God’s Word in your life, your life has nothing to do with God. Jesus said, 3“If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed.” The reason why sin abounds, is because people neglect reading the Bible. Know that your own good works are exactly that, yours and not God’s. Think about this. 4Those that abide in the ways of the Lord are loved by Him and considered His friend. 2Your faith makes you a child of God and no longer an enemy to Him. His ways bring about good works but these works are different than ours. Our own good works will do nothing for our salvation but the works that God can do through us.

Let the Lord convict you of your sins. Cry unto God and ask for forgiveness. May these desires lead you to pray often and seek God’s hand in your life. Begin to incline your ears to God’s counsel. Without His wisdom, we are unclean and filthy in His sight. Only through the Lord can we be covered by His blood. 5This does not mean that you can continue sinning. It means that your sinful lifestyle can change. The Lord will be our help when temptation comes. Because Jesus sacrificed Himself on the cross, for your sins, there is forgiveness and deliverance from sin. He gives us newness of life. God gives us the ability to think, act and speak differently. We can’t change our wicked heart on our own but God can help us. Get into God’s Word and start praying for assistance. Say, 1“Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.” I confess my sins. I am sorry. Please forgive me. I know that their 1“is forgiveness with thee”. If you are sincere, the Lord will come to you. In your brokenness, the Lord will bring peace. In His presence, you will know that you are loved. That He cares for your soul. His love will bring about new life. As David said, 1“I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.” God’s Word fills me with joy and leads me on the right path. May you also turn to God and find mercy. He shall redeem you from all your iniquities.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, help me to not live any longer outside Your will. Help me see the sins in my life. If I am apart from Your love, help me know what it is, that I might change. May there be a conviction of my sins. Convict me and bring about a desire to change. I also pray that this generation of believers, will read the Bible. May they read Your words daily and allow the Spirit to penetrate their lives to repentance. May this be the start of a new life. I know that You can change us. You can see through our wickedness and give us promptings to change. Help us know what is contrary to Your will. If we are living in willful sin, let it be known. Deliver us from the darkness and into Your light. Break the bonds of sin. We are sorry for living apart from You. Please forgive us. Have mercy upon our souls. I trust in You Jesus. I love You. Amen.

2John 1:1-14 (KJV)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

3John 8:31-36 (KJV)

32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
33 They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.
36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

4John 15:1-14 (KJV)
1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.
11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

5Romans 6:1-9 (KJV)
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.
8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

6Hebrews 10:26-31 (KJV)
26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
28 He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
