Hearken Unto God And Not Man

God is beckoning us to come to Him and listen to His voice. But how can we listen if our focus is on other things? How can we learn if we already believe we are content and need nothing more? Even our faith could be totally off base but we will never know the truth unless we come to God for answers. If we aren’t at least searching the Bible for answers, and basing our beliefs on God’s Word, then we will draw near unto man and not God. Let me ask you something. Would you rather be saved or die in a belief that sounds good on paper, but truly leads to hell? Search your soul for this answer. Right now, you may be content but know that tomorrow may not come. What you know now will stick with you in the next life. 2If you chose to live a life based on the teachings of a false religion, then you will die with fear and trembling before God. Know that it is not only willful sin that leads a person to hell. It is also a false belief in God. Only your foolishness makes it so that you do not test your knowledge with God. There were chances. There were people in your life that shared the truth of God and you flat out rejected them. You did not hearken to God when you had a chance. It was God that stretched forth His hand but you disregarded it. In the end, your heart was closed off, because you thought you were right. You had a chance to test your beliefs with God’s Word and pray about it, but you, yourself, walked away. The Lord God is waiting for You now. 1Set aside what you think you know and learn what is true. Then the Spirit of God will come.

God does not force His truth upon anyone. He simply shares it with those that are listening. And to them that receive the true knowledge, that only comes from Father, are the ones that are blessed. These are God’s children and are saved through the blood of Christ. If you believe that you are saved and will go to heaven, then search your heart to see if you are for God. Do this now or have God do so in judgement. There are specific things that will lead you to hell. 2#1 Willful sin. If you know that what you are doing is wrong and you continue to do so and justify it, then God will make you accountable. The blood of Jesus does not cover a person that is not born again, but chooses a different life. #2 Unbelief. If you know of God’s mercy and the gospel of Jesus Christ and reject it, God will also reject you in judgement. You are not His, unless you accept the Lord Jesus in your life. 3#3 False belief in God. Even if your intentions appear good, if your knowledge of God is not based on the Bible, then it is not of Him also. If your beliefs are unbiblical in nature, this shows God that His teachings are unimportant. And if God’s understanding is left out of the equation, then You are also not His child. The Lord says, 1“Walk not thou in the way with them,” that do not have the truth. Seek the Lord above all else and become secure in His promises, over the promises of men. It is only when you turn from your selfish desires and come to God can you truly hear Him. Pray now and receive the Lord Jesus in your life. Allow Him to speak truth to Your heart.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that You will lead me to all truth. There are so many people out to deceive and I do not wish to be one of those that are led astray. I was led away from You, in the past, and I do not wish to live in that lifestyle again. May there be no more willful sin in my life. Cast out all unbelief. If there is any hardness in my heart, take it from me now. Speak freely that I may know how to walk in Your ways. Teach me what is true and help me know what is false. I am here now to unlearn anything that goes against Your will. I wish to be guided by Your teachings and not anyone else’s. Lead me by the hand. Speak through the words of the Bible that I may conform my beliefs based on Your words alone. Lead me from corrupt men and women that are lying in wait to deceive. Lead me from those that walk apart from Your path. Shine Your light upon me that others may come from darkness and into Your light. Help people know that Your words are true. Help them develop beliefs that are based on the Bible. I believe in You, Lord. I trust in Your Word. I know that it is true and holy. Your words are pure. I love You. Amen.

1Proverbs 1:15-33 (KJV)
15 My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:
16 For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.
17 Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.
18 And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives.
19 So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.
20 Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:
21 She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,
22 How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?
23 Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.
24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:
26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;
27 When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.
28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:
29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord:
30 They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.
31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.
32 For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.
33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

2Hebrews 10:26-31 (KJV)
26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
28 He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

32 John 1:9-11 (KJV)
9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
