It Is Wise To Follow Jesus

Those that follow Jesus are very wise indeed. They could have continued in their old beliefs and traditions of men, but instead they gave it all up for Him. This is a sacrifice but oh so important. When a person submits themselves to the Lord in prayer, the Lord is able to rescue them. He hears our confessions and can see the humility in our hearts. 3These are those that are forgiven and cleansed by His blood. His mercy and grace is upon them. What a great thing it is to have the Lord come into our lives and then give us the understanding we need. He surely opens our eyes that we may see. And when God answers our prayers, 1“A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season.” There is great joy and much peace in one’s life when we are led by God. And as God delivers us from the bondage of sin, oh how grateful our hearts become. We knew that we were headed on a path to destruction but Jesus saved us. This new way of life gives us peace, because our path is secure in the Lord. Solomon said, 1“the way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.” Every person that gives there life to Christ has so much to look forward to. Imagine a life that is no longer worried about death and hell. Where heaven is their final destination. 2This is so comforting and only Jesus could allow this for us all, because of the cross. Since Jesus died for our sins, we can be made clean and live again.

This new way of life, through Christ Jesus, helps us know what is good and what is evil. Because the Bible is so plain about these things, we are able to better choose what is right. Solomon taught that 1“the thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the Lord: but the words of the pure are pleasant words.” And this is made known to us when we submit to Jesus. We are convicted of our formal lusts and are given over to a new way of living. We do things that are pure in the sight of God. We know longer let pride get in our way but continue to humble ourselves, day by day. And because our trust is in God, we listen carefully to His counsel. It is true when Solomon said 1“the ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.” This is how a person grows in the faith. And it truly helps when a person is reading the Bible daily and seeking answers in prayer. It is better to be filled with the truth of God then be filled with our own understanding. Solomon said, 1“the heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.” The Lord does answers our prayers. He is ready to direct our paths and give us understanding. However, our hearts must be for Him and not be willfully sinning. Lastly, Solomon taught, 1“the Lord is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.” This is why living a righteous life, through Christ, is so important.

Let us pray:
Lord God, thank You for coming into my life. Thank You for listening to my prayers. I need You Lord. You are my Savior and without You I am dead. I need Your direction in life so that I do not fall back into the bondage of sin. As for my old life, I hope to keep in the past, and continue with this new slate that You have given me. And I know that I cannot do this on my own. I need Your continued guidance and direction in my life. Otherwise, I will stumble through life and continually fall into temptation. Lord, I do not wish to fall into willful sin but to serve You, all the days of my life. Help the members of my body conform to Your ways and to do Your will. My flesh is weak but I am strong in You, Lord. Your presence builds up my faith and I can stand valiantly before You and others. With this faith, I am able to fight against the evil one. Yes God, I can do all things through You. I love Your ways, I just need You to lead me. May Your Holy Spirit shine down upon me, that others may also see this life change and seek after You also. I love You Lord. Amen.

1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

31 John 1 (KJV)
1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
