Accept God’s Counsel

Why go on in life thinking that all is OK when sin abounds? Please know that God knows where you are in life and if you continue in your sins and put aside the day of your repentance, there will be consequences. You may not encounter the wrath of God while in this life, but it will be felt come judgement day. Solomon taught, 1“a prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished.” This day will be amazing for those in Christ the Lord but sorrowful for those that died in their sins. Therefore, 1“boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth,” as Solomon said. Instead, boast in the Lord God and what He can do for your life. Discover the Lord Jesus and be made clean through His blood. He may chastise you, based on the life you’ve lived, but His advice is the best counsel you will ever receive. Please know that 1“open rebuke is better than secret love.” God taught Solomon that and it is very important to understand this concept. Every secret in life will eventually come out in the open, one way or another. Why not just allow God to prick your heart and respond to it with humbleness? It does take humility to submit to God’s teachings but the wise will do so with joy. Those that are thirsty will accept the Lord and listen to Him. For their souls hunger for something greater that only God can give.

Who do you trust? Is it God’s wisdom, through prayer, Bible study and Christian fellowship or other people of this world? We can gain great knowledge by reading God’s Words daily and by praying. There are also good friends in the faith that help us understand God’s wisdom better and leaning on them for answers is good. Because the Holy Spirit is able to fill every person of the faith, fellowship is so important. However, we must be wise and know who we put our trust in. People of this world will fail us and let us down more than we will ever know. A person may be a friend one day and then an enemy the next. That is why leaning on God on who to associate with is very important. Solomon said, 1“faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.” He also spoke about being there for your friends in time of need. 1“Thine own friend, and thy father’s friend, forsake not; neither go into thy brother’s house in the day of thy calamity: for better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off.” Only God’s love would lead you to be a dear friend to people and to be there for them in time of need. And if this is your life, then you have chosen the wiser path that leads to God in heaven. I pray that you will live a life for Christ and put away all your sins for His sake. Heed God’s counsel and repent. Do as He instructs and it will be well with you in the end.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that people will wake up from their sins and draw near to You. May they find rest in Your presence and be covered by Your blood. There is much sadness because of the wages of sin but also much relief, through of Your mercy. I know now that having secrets is not important. I was only fooling myself, to think that I was Ok, while living a sinful life. Because I know You are there, I also realize that I have nowhere to hide. My life is an open book to You God. Therefore, this knowledge brought me to repent. I’d rather be honest than live a lie. I may have been rebuked, while living a sinful life, but I am so grateful Lord. I needed Your counsel and You gave it. When I needed it most, You were there. In my brokenness I saw the vial sinner I had become, and could not take it any longer. The day I came to You in prayer was the day I found peace. You saved me that day from a life of addiction. I had nowhere to go but now there is freedom. Thank You for giving me a new life. I am restored into Your love and am so grateful. Thank You for leading me on this path of righteousness. I am so blessed. Now there is hope and it is found in You, Jesus. I trust in You Lord. I love You. Amen.
