Living For God Or This World?

It is when people turn from God is when bad things start to happen in their lives. Addiction is an example of something that can easily find root in a person’s life because of their desire to live in the world outside of God. And know that the more you stray from God’s commands, the more wickedness will cling to them also. In these times, people may pray but since they are not sincere in their intentions to change, God’s wrath is upon them. Solomon put it this way, 1“he that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.” So please understand that God knows your heart and if you are not for Him, don’t be making things up either. You are either for Him or against Him. There is no middle ground. Just because you have what you feel like you need in life, does not mean that you are in good standing with God. Your own happiness or wealth will only last for a time but salvation or damnation is eternal. And Solomon helps us understand the difference in someone that thinks they are rich, because of what they have, in comparison with the poor, that seek to gain greater knowledge. He said, 1“the rich man is wise in his own conceit; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out.” To those people that think they are better off than those that follow after God, have something coming to them, come death.

Every person that is living in the world does not understand what they are missing out on. There is so much joy, happiness, peace and love they do not encounter without God. True Christians, however, encounter these things daily. Sure, they may experience these things in their own wealth or addictions, at times, but those things will always end in misery and guilt. It would be so much better if their sins were given over to God in repentance. God has already convicted them of their wickedness but still the majority of people in this world continue to resist His counsel. They then justify their actions and keep things to themselves. By doing this, they are denying the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. And therefore, do not understand the consequences and the judgements that await them come death. Solomon said, 1“evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the Lord understand all things.” My question is, why go the length of hiding your sins when God knows all? It would be so much better if these people came clean with the Lord God in confession. He is waiting for them to simply have a heart to listen to Him. Solomon taught that 1“he that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.” Every person that gives their life to Christ is made a new person. And this is the only way to get to heaven. Jesus needs to be a part of our lives. Only through this, can we be led from darkness and into His light.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that more people will give into Your counsel and repent. When they are convicted of their faults may they act on those feelings and pray. May they realize how wicked they have become, and desire a true change of heart. I pray that confessions will come out of their mouth and that their soul will long to be better. That they may finally become right in Your presence. Break the hardness of their hearts, this day. Come and break down the walls that they have put up. May their shame and guilt bring them to a point of brokenness, that they may find You, even at their lowest point in life. I know that when we are broken, there is also humility. There is a heartfelt seeking for something greater. When we discover that what we are doing does not bring lasting happiness but only pain, is when things start to change. May this realization of something better come to these people’s minds today. Help them see past themselves and seek You out with their whole hearts. I know that all peace, joy, happiness and love comes from You. And that these people that are lost can be restored into Your fold Your blood can cover anyone that calls upon Your Name, Jesus. I trust in You, Lord. You are my hope and my salvation. I love You. Amen.
