Our Destination

For those people that attempt to prolong their lives, death is still at their doorsteps. Solomon said, 1“though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him. But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he feareth not before God.” As you can see here, only those that fear God are not in danger come judgment day. Solomon spoke about that day when he said, 1“to every purpose there is time and judgment, therefore the misery of man is great upon him.” Surely, the righteous are happier in this life and will continue this way in heaven. However, the wicked will continue to experience misery in hell. These same people will also not be remembered. On this matter Solomon said, 1“I saw the wicked buried, who had come and gone from the place of the holy, and they were forgotten.” The outcome of wicked is bleak for certain, while the righteous have high hopes come death. As we all know, death everyone, young or old. Where people go, however, is not always a topic of discussion as most people go to hell and some go to heaven. Where in judgement, the wicked and the righteous will be sorted out and then head to their eternal destination. This day is coming for everyone.

Know this for certain that, in heaven, the people there will experience joy and happiness that never ends. The peace and love they will experience will be amazing in every way. The most wonderful things they will see and be a part of have no bounds because the goodness of God is ever present. As for the people in hell and then finally, the lake of fire, their pain and sorrow will have no end. Guilt and shame fills this place as they are tortured day and night in fiery flames. Oh, the wicked and vial things they will experience have no bounds because evil fills this place. If you’d like to know who isn’t found in hell and the lake of fire, Solomon explained the type of person. He said, 1“whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing.” And to understand what commandment this is, we let Jesus answer this question. He was asked the same thing here, 2“which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” So this commandment is twofold. To love God with all our hearts and our neighbor as ourselves. To do these things will keep us out of trouble and onto the path of God. Please consider this today.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that more people will experience your great love. May they come to know You personally before their time is done. I know that our time is short, even though some people attempt to prolong their lives. What sadness this brings me to see people try to escape death while also escaping their day of repentance. Most people know about You but continue to live their own lives apart from You. And what is really sad is that a lot of these same people think their beliefs will save them. Wow, God, what a false sense of security to think that You will allow their filth into Your kingdom. I pray that these people will wake up to their wickedness today. May they understand how far they have strayed and come to You for reconciliation. I know that only You Lord have the ability to cleanse them and move them to live differently. Yes, it takes humility and I pray that people will be ever so humble before You. And maybe then, will they fear You, while no longer living a life that mocks You. I am so grateful that You have opened my eyes to the wickedness in me. I am a new person because of that. I am changed because of Your love, Jesus. You are my Savior and I love You so much Lord. Amen.

1Ecclesiastes 8:5-13 (KJV)
5 Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing: and a wise man’s heart discerneth both time and judgment.
6 Because to every purpose there is time and judgment, therefore the misery of man is great upon him.
7 For he knoweth not that which shall be: for who can tell him when it shall be?
8 There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it.
9 All this have I seen, and applied my heart unto every work that is done under the sun: there is a time wherein one man ruleth over another to his own hurt.
10 And so I saw the wicked buried, who had come and gone from the place of the holy, and they were forgotten in the city where they had so done: this is also vanity.
11 Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
12 Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him:
13 But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he feareth not before God.

2Matthew 22:35-40 (KJV)
35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
