God Does Not Accept False Sacrifices

God spoke through Isaiah concerning the many iniquities of the people of Jerusalem. And although it was concerning them, please understand that this warning is for every person that says they are a believer in Jesus. Here’s what He said, 1“I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.” These people were so rebellious and at the same time thought that their burnt offerings would please God. However, you will soon see that God hates such offerings.” He said, 1“to what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the Lord: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.” To these things, He said, 1“bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me.” Please understand that vain things such as this is pure wickedness and God hates it. He hated that people continued to sin and forget God, but at the time of festivals would bring their animals to the slaughter and say their prayers for forgiveness. As we read, God was not happy with them, even when they prayed, because it wasn’t real. He said, 1“when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.” These people were so wicked, as they thought that they could cover their sins with sacrifices to God.

Isaiah spoke about people’s festival attendance, animal sacrifices and prayers, but how these things were all counted unworthy. This is because they continued to sin and were not sincere. And the people today have not changed. These so called believers have the same heart as them of the past. They walk in their own ways and have forgotten their God but then attend church certain times of the year, while reading the Bible and praying on occasion. God describes such people as 1“ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the Lord, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.” God’s wrath is upon such people and only His mercy can change the fact that they are guilty. So what does God want? He desires that people repent of their sins, live a life for God, and be truthful in their prayers. In His own words, He counsels us, 1“wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil.” And there is a promise to all people that obey what God says. He said, 1“come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” So heed the counsel of God today and become clean through the blood of Jesus. He will come and cleanse you of all sin.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I know that we live in a day where people’s hearts are turned to themselves. Because they are of the world, they have forgotten their one true God and continue to live in their sins. I have met so many people like this, God, that do not wish to listen to Your counsel but instead walk in their own ways. Because what they have now is giving them happiness, they believe they have no need of You or Your counsel. I pray that such wicked people. They do not realize the trouble they are in with You and the consequences if they do not repent. Surely, Your wrath is upon them. I pray that these people will be awakened. May their hearts be softened that they may hear Your words and rejoice. Pierce their hearts and lead them out of darkness and into Your light. Surely our souls are dead without You in our lives. So come and revive these people and resurrect their souls today. Lead them out of every sin and addiction. May your forgiveness and mercy be upon them. Cover them with Your blood and cleanse them of all sin. Teach them to walk in Your ways, at all times, and no longer when it seems best to them. We need more people that are sincere in their walk with you God. I pray that these people will be among these righteous followers of You, Jesus. I trust in You Lord. Even unto the end, will I follow You. I love You. Amen.
