A New Life In Christ

Before we knew Christ, we were in bondage of sin. We could not control ourselves when it came to looking at porn, living in sexual sin, drinking, doing drugs and other such things. Then as we came unto Him, we found freedom and redemption because of the cross. Paul says it very well in Galatians, chapter 4, when he said, 1“even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world: But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.” We were once of the world. Shame and guilt piled up upon us each day that we sinned. This was heavy and nothing we could do on our own could free us from this bondage. We wanted freedom but could not find it until we found Jesus. Only by following Him did we find out what true freedom was really like. And now that we have allowed Him to change our lives, even our thoughts and desires have morphed into what the Lord wills for our lives. Instead of doing things that the flesh desires, we live unto God through the Holy Spirit. You may wonder how this is all possible, but when we become a child of God everything we’ve ever known is flipped upside down and our reason to live is so much better. We no longer live to please ourselves but to please God and our neighbor. Showcasing our love towards them is what brings us the greatest joy of all. Therefore, we no longer live in sin, but for God and to do His will always.

The reason why it is possible for us to live a different life is because the Lord God is working through us. The same way we come to our earthly father and mother for assistance, we now come unto God in everything we do. As Paul said, 1“and because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.” These heart felt prayers to God and searching for answers in His Words, the Bible, is what leads us to find counsel and direction in this life. Each time we cry out to God in our confessions, ask for direction and give Him praise, He listens to us and helps us along the way. This truly sets apart the person that loves God and who just needs Him when they are in need. To the true believers, the Lord God is their Father and every day that they wake and go throughout the day, they need Him. And because of this, they would be lost without Him. So they come to God in the good and the bad times, for it is always good to find strength and direction from Him. Most of all, to worship our God is what we love to do, for He is worthy of all our praise. However, we got other people who only call upon God in their struggles and their trials. This is fine in the beginning, but if this continues God is only a crutch to them and a person that they can use when needed. This is so wrong and I pray that if this is your life, that you repent today. Know that if you are a true believer, then the Lord God would be the King of your life at all times.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I love You so much. What You’ve done for me on the cross means the world to me. Because You died and suffered for the sins of mankind, I have found freedom. Your blood has covered me and washed away all the guilt and shame in my life. Every sin that I have committed was before You and still You wiped it clean from Your mind that I might have peace. Thank You so much Lord for redeeming me and for putting my life upon Yourself that I might live. I was once in chains but You broke them and set the captive free. What a wonderful God You are. Oh the compassion and mercy. There is no one like You. Your love has changed every part of my life. In Your strength, I am guided safely through this life. Because You live inside of me, I am no longer on my own but have a Savior to help me every step of the way. Thank You Jesus. I pray that I may never turn back and that my soul will always do Your will. I no longer want darkness in my life but to ever be in Your light. This is where the beauty and joy comes from and my heart longs to always be with You. So lead me every day out of temptation. Help me raise my shield of faith and fight valiantly through every storm that comes at me. I know that I am more than a conqueror with You on my side. Because You are my Father, I am truly blessed. You are my God and hear my cries and are my deliverer. In good times and bad, You give me direction and lift me up when I am down. Thank You Lord. I love You, Jesus. Amen.

Galatians 4:1-19 (KJV)
Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;
But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.
Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:
But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.
But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?
Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.
I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.
Brethren, I beseech you, be as I am; for I am as ye are: ye have not injured me at all.
Ye know how through infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first.
And my temptation which was in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.
Where is then the blessedness ye spake of? for I bear you record, that, if it had been possible, ye would have plucked out your own eyes, and have given them to me.
Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?
They zealously affect you, but not well; yea, they would exclude you, that ye might affect them.
But it is good to be zealously affected always in a good thing, and not only when I am present with you.
My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,
