Seven Angels And Their Trumpets: Part 2

When God sends the fifth and sixth angels to the earth, in order to blow their trumpets, it will surely be a huge wake up call to God’s wrath upon the wicked. Because God is real and all powerful, everything on earth obeys Him and will do as He says. If people do not repent then they will face the consequences in this life and the next. This is especially true for those that will be around during the times of the seventh seal and these seven angels. So let’s begin our study on Revelation, chapter 9, and continue where the 4th angel left off. This chapter begins as the 1“the fifth angel sounded”. It goes on and says, 1“I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.” Here we have a mighty angel that held the keys to the bottomless pit. You can tell that he was on God’s side, as when he opened the pit to the earth, the locusts were given direct orders to not hurt the true believers of Christ. However, the unbelievers were susceptible to their torments, as we will learn next.

Out of the smoke of the bottomless pit came giant locusts that were out to torment every person that didn’t belong to God. It says that they were 1“given that they should not kill the” people, 1“but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man. And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them. And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men. And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions. And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle. And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months. And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon. One woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes more hereafter.” So, we learn that Abaddon was the ruler of these creatures, who also held the keys to the bottomless pit. Wherever He led these locusts, they would go and obey. They were very ferocious in there very demeaner, even to the point of people not being able to escape their torments. This should wake us all up to God’s wrath.

Now, as was mentioned the sixth and seventh trumpets are woes and very devastating indeed. For the sake of this message, we will focus on the fifth and sixth trumpets and their causes and effects. So God called the sixth angel and he sounded his trumpet also. Then it says, 1“I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates. And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them. And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone. By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths. For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.” So, we have this angel who also had the keys to unlock the four fallen angels and loose them. By the hands of these wicked angels, a giant army was formed and a third part of mankind was killed off. The evil and hatred in these wicked angels hearts lead many people to wage war. All of this was because of their influence.

As this message comes to a close, let us reflect on the events that are prophesied to take place in the end times. Surely, it is more than a great calamity but the most destruction to hit the earth since the great flood. What was already mentioned is real and devastating in every word of it. This is especially true when it pertains to the wicked. All these things that were mentioned above will take place as the Bible reads, either in our time or in a remote time in the future. However, no matter when this happens, we ought to prepare ourselves, that we may be found on the Lord’s side. This way, we will already know when things start to happen, for we will have prepared our lives for such times. Now, I say this knowing that many people will not be found worthy during the time of the great tribulation. This is why this prophesy is written and will one day be fulfilled. Because people would rather do their own things and live their own lives apart from God, God’s wrath is stored up against them. Now this leads us into the end of this chapter, which reads, 1“and the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.” As we see here, the punishments of God were because people did not repent of their evil deeds. And because the blood of Jesus did not cover them, this was just the beginning of their torment on earth as it will be in the lake of fire.

Let us pray:
I pray Lord that more people will desire to live a life for You and to no longer live in a state of willful sin. May people understand what they are doing is wrong, starting today. I know that we all are susceptible to sin in this life, but those that love You will always turn from their sins and repent. This is because it is better to live in Your holiness, then to have temporary pleasure in this world. I know this first hand, as the lusts in the flesh for pornography and women in general have almost taken me down to the grave. If I had not repented and turned to You, Lord, then my shame and depression would have easily eaten at my soul to even death. As I have once suffered in all this guilt, I no longer wish that I would fall back into my old ways again. Because You have taken me by the hand, Lord, and have shown me the way, I know that things are much better now. All my shame has been replaced with peace, comfort and so much love. My guilt has been taken and now I have hope for a new day. I know that I have no way of living a righteous life on my own, but with Your presence in my life and the help of the Holy Spirit, I am more than capable of living up to Your standards. It is truly my desires to go through Your narrow gate and help others escape the wide gate to hell and destruction. I do not wish people to suffer, but to be set free through following You, Jesus. Your blood has been spilt for all mankind on the cross. If they would simply look to You in faith and confess their sins, all things would be made new. You would be able to change their lives and lead them from darkness and into Your light. There is a better way to live in this life and it is through Your hands. Standing for Your cause it only way to go for salvation, when the end of days of come. This I pray Lord, in thy Holy Name, Jesus. Amen.
