Damaging Effects Of Pornography

Pornography is very damaging to the soul. It is like putting a dagger in our relationship with God. This is why confessions to God is so important, when this type of addiction and others are present in our lives. We mustn’t put this off, for every day that we continue in this lifestyle, the further we will get from God, until He no longer matter. Each day that we look at our phone, tablet or computer screen for the purpose of looking at women this way, is when our lusts are in full control and God is shut out. Truly, if this sexual sin is not dealt with, with God, then we will slowly walk apart from God’s grace in our lives. This is making what Jesus did for you on the cross null and void. You are in affect walking on fire and going on a path of no return, if you do not repent of your sins. Take my word for it, It is not worth risking your salvation for temporary pleasure while in your lusts. I have learned this the hard way myself. Porn almost destroyed my marriage and I know how devastating it can be for others. So I plead that you learn from your mistakes, like I have, and no longer give into your lusts. Instead, allow the Lord to take every evil thought captive. Looking at pornography is not worth it. This makes you filthy and tells God that He does not matter. If your faith in Jesus means anything, then confess your sins to Him today. Do has James said and 1“draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.” (James 4:8,9)

If you are addicted to pornography, then this message is for you. Please take a moment now and pray. Allow Jesus to cleanse you and change your wicked heart. Only He can purify you from the inside out. Mourn for what you have done, as your cries will be heard. A humble heart tells God that you are sorry. His forgiveness and mercy is then for you. Now let me help you understand what pornography does to a person. #1 It destroys that person’s salvation with God, if confessions are not made. #2 It destroys our relationship with our wife, if we continue in this until she finds out. #3 It causes you to keep secrets and not be truthful to people you love. #4 It causes you to look at women in a derogatory way, instead of loving them, like God does. #5 It causes you to neglect reading the Bible and pray less often. #6 It causes guilt and shame to take over your life. #7 It leads people to commit adultery with other women, while married. #8 It causes people to justify their sins. I can go on and on with how bad this addiction is. But in reality, it is way worse than people make it out to be. Truly, this sin is wicked and abominable in the sight of God. It is so disgusting that God has to look away from these vile acts. The Lord cannot abide with anyone that has turned their back on Him. This is telling Him that His righteousness and holiness does not matter. Continuing to act in this type of sin is surely causing God’s wrath to be upon you. Therefore, 1“submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7) The Lord is waiting to receive you this day.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I want to tell you how sorry I am for all the times I have given in and looked at pornography over the years. I know the damaging effects this has had on our relationship and others and I am so sorry. Thank You for giving me a will to fight against it now. If I am able to conquer it, it is because You have given me that strength. I no longer wish to allow this temptation and others to influence my life. The guilt and shame is unbearable in the moments that I falter. So I pray that you take me and others, when we are in this dark place and lead us to freedom. I wish that You would look inside our souls and take away all the lustful desires. Any wickedness in our hearts, we give to You. Make us whole again through Your holiness. It is doing Your will that I am truly happy. I no longer wish for the devil to get the best of me. His lies and deceits need to stop now and I know that You can help me. Every dagger he throws at my life, even though it is enticing, can be deflected, for You are my shield. It is true that I am not able to deflect His fiery darts on my own, but with Your presence in my life, I have amour. Because You build me up each day in Your righteousness, I am ready to go into the battle and come out victorious. This I know, for You have helped me conquer my desires to look at porn and masturbate. It is only when I walk away from You and do my own thing, that I am lost again. Therefore, I plead for Your continued presence. I need more of You and less of me. Forgive me of my sins. I no longer wish to sin against You, but walk faithfully in Your righteousness. You are my God, and I love You more. Lead me from temptation and into Your light. I love You. Amen.
