Among the wicked things in this world, two of them are hardly ever called out on for what they are, but must be addressed. These two things are murderous video games and Halloween/Horror Flicks. To many people think that these things are harmless, but to God they are far from that. So let me begin with video games that kill. The aim in this is to kill people for fun, steal from them, and destroy their villages. I know that when I was addicted to these types of video games, that the Holy Spirit was not in me, but the spirit of Satan. My thoughts were not for the Lord, but to do things that I knew were wrong in secret like look at pornography and masturbate. I even got involved with this and I admit to you and God that I was wrong. In my confessions to the Lord, did I tell Him sorry and ask for forgiveness. Paul said, 2“For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.” (Ephesians 5:12) There is a reason why this type of wicked lifestyle was in me, it is because I was being led by Satan and not God. Jesus said, 1“I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” (John 10:9,10) Now, please pay attention to what the devil causes us to do. The same things that people are feeling inside, when playing these games, is of the devil. I am so happy I was able to let go of all these games I used to play. Now, I am able to focus my time on God. There are no more excuses to read the Bible daily and to pray often, for it has become who I am today.
The second thing that people do that is of this world is participate in Halloween, and watch horror flicks. Even haunted houses do they seek out, in order to have a good scare. My family often invited me over to a neighbor’s haunted house, for they thought it was all fun and games. The sad thing is, is that they called themselves Christians. In saying this, do you see the harm in any of these things? Or do you think that God is OK with us spending time with the darkness of this world? To answer this, Paul said, 2“let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with them. For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light.” (Ephesians 5:6-8) As you can see from these verses, in times past we did things as the world did, while we were in darkness. However, we grew up and now look to Christ for salvation, anything that is of the devil we gave up. This is because we are now 2“proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.” (Ephesians 5:10,11) By doing this, we understand that it is better to give up things that God disapproves of in order to be in His favor and not the world thereof. Therefore, 2“awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.” (Ephesians 5:14) When you do this, you will see the darkness in Halloween and horror movies. It is the Holy Spirit that will give you eyes to see. This way you will be able to walk in the light of Jesus and no longer be partakers of darkness. May the Lord Jesus save you this day.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that people will begin to understand how dark and evil these video games that kill people, Halloween, and horror movies are. Surely, by partaking in these things are they inviting Satan in their lives and not You. While they walk in darkness, they are only inviting evil Spirits to take them over. Therefore, people that are partakers of such things need Your deliverance. May they turn from their wicked ways and repent in Your holy Name, Jesus. You have the power to wake them up from their slumber, that they may start doing things that are pleasing in Your sight. Help these people find salvation and a way out of the wicked lifestyle that they made for themselves. You are our good shepherd and I pray that people will hear Your voice and come unto You. I know that every person that is Your elect will hear You and follow You. They will no longer care for things that are dark in nature, or having anything that has killing involved with it. Instead, they will put these things away, once and for all, and go all in for You, Jesus. I pray that we will no longer fellowship with those in darkness and not participate in going out to horror movies and haunted houses. You are able to give us courage to resist such invitation, and instead stand up for Your cause. And when Halloween comes, our desires will only be to witness to the lost and no longer participate with those people in darkness. I love You more than all things Lord. Thank You for showing me the way and leading me from darkness and into Your light. It is my prayer now that I may have more You in my life and less of me. Cast out any sin in my life and others that grieve the Spirit and cause us to walk away from You. I love You Lord. Rescue others that are ready now, as You have rescued me. Amen.

1John 10:1-18 (KJV)
1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.
6 This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.
7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.
14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
2Ephesians 5:1-21 (KJV)
1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.
14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
