No More Cussing or Filthy Language

When we decide, once and for all, that we believe in Christ, this is also a life change. This is because we are now allowing the Lord, our God, to do a work in our lives. We do not hesitate in doing this but come unto His feet humbly, that He may tear out of our wicked hearts every sin that displeases Him. This process is very convicting to our formal lifestyle, but all so good to our new found self in Christ. God even has His servants on the streets and at church, ready to share the gospel to all that will hear. And while this message is of hope, it is also to convict all sinners to become right before God, before it is too late. There is a day of reckoning ahead of each person, come death in judgment, but it all depends if we are washed clean through the blood of Jesus beforehand if we are worthy or not. So, my friends, 1“set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” (Colossians 3:2) And 1“mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.” (Colossians 3:5-8) These things mentioned will only cause you to stumble in life and ultimately lead you on the path of destruction, which is hell. So repent if such things are still present in your life.

One thing that was spoken by Paul to the Colossians above is “filthy communication out of your mouth”. Of which also James taught the following, 2“if any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.” (James 1:26) Wow, my friends, this is so important to understand. Our communication with people will either make us God’s servants or not. No true believer is still cussing or swearing, calling people names, saying crude or demeaning jokes, and most importantly, using the name of the Lord our God in vain. If so, then that person is deceived and his faith is in vain, as James said. Therefore, if you have this problem, then give it all to God. Don’t allow such evil speaking to continue in your heart any longer. You can do this by calling upon the name of the Lord God for help. Now, if this is your desire, then 1“put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.” (Colossians 3:12-15) Putting your trust in God will fill you with the Holy Spirit, which will give over to the things mentioned above. This is what true Christians do. So start following Jesus today.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray for every person that is still living a life of sin. What they are doing is very destructive to not only themselves, but to others around them. So convict these people of the wrath to come, lest they repent and be made right with you, while in this life. Based on your Word, I know it is serious stuff to walk uprightly in this life and not continue living for the world. Truly, people have become very disobedient to Your will and don’t even realize it. This is very sad, since sin and repentance are not taught as much, or not at all, in certain churches anymore. What we need are pastors that are leading the flock of Christ on the path of righteousness, and instead, they are leading them on paths that do not save their souls from hell. Oh Lord, convict these men of their sins, that they may stop beating around the bush when it comes to certain topics in the Bible, but begin to teach on them with boldness. This way, people will understand that using foul language is so evil, that even their faith is dead also if they continue to do so. There is so much people need to learn when it comes to sin and death. And without fully coming to You in repentance, these people will never be washed clean through Your blood. So I pray that people will desire to teach exactly what the Bible says and also be doers of the Word. Then, will people walk out their faith and begin to shine Your light for all to see. I love You, Lord. Your ways are true and faithful. I believe in You enough to give up my sinful lifestyle and follow You. This world doesn’t even hold a candle to what you can do in my life. Amen.

Colossians 3
1Colossians 3 (KJV)
1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
6 For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.
19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.
21 Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.
22 Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God;
23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.
James 1
2James 1 (KJV)
1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.
2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
9 Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:
10 But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.
11 For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.
12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.
17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.
27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

  1. Amen! Let us be clean. Let us be holy. Let us be pure. The Father, the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit desires a willing heart and willing mind to do His will. God desires us to give ourselves to Him purely out of desire. We cannot truly do that unless we are clean, holy and pure. This includes our speech for our faith must be clean, complete, full, holy and pure. We believe by faith and this must be a heart entirely and totally bowed down into submission to our Lord Jesus Christ. This submission must be lived out and this includes our speech. By our words we shall be justified and by our words we shall be condemned. If our words are nothing but filthy and filthiness, we are filthy and full of filthiness. This really only shows on the outside what we are and what is going on in the inside. Let us put away filthiness and being filthy and let us put on cleanliness, holiness and purity and let us put on our Lord Christ. We are not under the law but we are under grace. We are not under bondage but we are in freedom. We are not under sin but we are under cleanliness, holiness and purity. We are free. We are clean, holy and pure. We are to be spotless for our Lord Jesus Christ. Nothing but our best lives should be lived for our Lord Jesus Christ.
