King Saul Died, Having Lost His Salvation

What we need to realize with God is that His mercy is for us, but if we withdraw from Him, then there is no more security in Christ, but only fear because of our sins and judgment ahead. We cannot think that we are still in right standing with God if we continue to willfully sin, while not repenting of what we have done. We know this to be true since Paul taught, 2“for if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” (Hebrews 10:26-31) My friends, you will never get away with murder with the law, and you will also not get away with anything that breaks the commandments or laws of God. Therefore, get to know what God loves and hates, and get rid of anything that is defiling you, while leading you away from Him. This can be profanity, pornography, fornication, adultery, drugs, drinking, smoking, or anything else that quenches the Holy Spirit, and is not allowing you to become holy before God. You know what is keeping you from God, so repent.

Our faith in God is not meaningful to Him if we are not walking in God’s good standing. How can you say you love God, but still do things that God says is wrong? Doing this is jeopardizing your salvation, and you may easily lose it if you were to die in your sins without the blood of Jesus covering you. Yes, there is a way to lose our salvation. This means that we once knew the Lord and walked in His ways for a time, and then we went back to living apart from Him. Saul is an example of doing this. Because he once knew the Lord, but transgressed against Him and did not repent of his evil ways, he was not protected when the Philistines came and fought against Israel. Therefore, he died not being under God’s good grace. And concerning his death, it is written, 1“so Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the Lord, even against the word of the Lord, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of it; And enquired not of the Lord: therefore he slew him, and turned the kingdom unto David the son of Jesse.” (1 Chronicles 10:13,14) Saul died having transgressed against the Lord and not repenting of his evil ways. He also kept not the word of the Lord, which he knew, but did not respect enough to honor. And instead of God, he relied on mediums/sorcerers to help him get his questions answered instead. This caused Saul to lose his life and salvation, and have David reign in his stead instead. Therefore, my friends, repent of anything that you are doing that goes against God. Get right with the Lord, starting today. Set your sights on God and doing His will, that your salvation will remain intact.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that we will continue to look to You in faith and not go off track. I know how the enemy wants to take us down the paths of destruction. His ways seem right on the outside but are always evil on the inside. If people could just see through what he is presenting and think upon it instead, then they would know that it goes against Your will. Now, if they had not known what the Bible says or have not been brought up in the faith, they may be walking in darkness and not even know it. So, Lord, we have two types of people, that as Christians we need to reach. We have people that have read the Bible but are now willfully living in their sins. Their conscience is seared, but they mask their guilt with more pleasure in the world. We also have those that don’t know what You approve and dislike. So we need to make this known to them while showing them respect and love also. This will help them get onto Your path, oh Lord. So, breathe upon every person that truly loves You the Holy Spirit. Help us be a light unto the world. May people understand that after death comes judgment. This can either be a wonderful time before You, Lord, or a fearful time. If people die in their sinful state, they will struggle to know what to say to You. They may try to justify their life before You, but really, having willfully sinned against You in death, there is no more forgiveness. Therefore, I pray that people will wake up to their sinful state and repent. May more people be covered by Your blood and no longer do things that displease You, but do Your will instead. I love You, Lord. Amen.

1 Chronicles 10
11 Chronicles 10 (KJV)
1 Now the Philistines fought against Israel; and the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines, and fell down slain in mount Gilboa.
2 And the Philistines followed hard after Saul, and after his sons; and the Philistines slew Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Malchishua, the sons of Saul.
3 And the battle went sore against Saul, and the archers hit him, and he was wounded of the archers.
4 Then said Saul to his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. So Saul took a sword, and fell upon it.
5 And when his armourbearer saw that Saul was dead, he fell likewise on the sword, and died.
6 So Saul died, and his three sons, and all his house died together.
7 And when all the men of Israel that were in the valley saw that they fled, and that Saul and his sons were dead, then they forsook their cities, and fled: and the Philistines came and dwelt in them.
8 And it came to pass on the morrow, when the Philistines came to strip the slain, that they found Saul and his sons fallen in mount Gilboa.
9 And when they had stripped him, they took his head, and his armour, and sent into the land of the Philistines round about, to carry tidings unto their idols, and to the people.
10 And they put his armour in the house of their gods, and fastened his head in the temple of Dagon.
11 And when all Jabeshgilead heard all that the Philistines had done to Saul,
12 They arose, all the valiant men, and took away the body of Saul, and the bodies of his sons, and brought them to Jabesh, and buried their bones under the oak in Jabesh, and fasted seven days.
13 So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the Lord, even against the word of the Lord, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of it;
14 And enquired not of the Lord: therefore he slew him, and turned the kingdom unto David the son of Jesse.
Hebrews 10
2Hebrews 10 (KJV)
1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.
7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;
9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:
12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.
14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,
16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
21 And having an high priest over the house of God;
22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
28 He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
32 But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions;
33 Partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used.
34 For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.
35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.
36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
37 For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.
38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.
