God Has Done And Still Performs Miracles

I am not sure if you have ever encountered God in such a way that your life was changed by that encounter or not? Now, when this happens, you will never forget it. This is because it becomes very sacred, which moves your faith to the next level. One such encounter was when I was on the streets and saw a lady with stage 4 cancer, while in a wheelchair, be healed by the hand of God. I simply felt the need to cry out to God for His healing power to touch her and He did. This happened in the summer of 2019 and I have not been the same since. That miraculous encounter is described in detail in this message. I do hope you read it and are blessed by it also. My friends, this miracle happened because the Lord still does miracles as He has in the past. Much like the miracles He did through Elijah and other men of God in the Bible. One such encounter with Elijah happened in 1 Kings 17. Because of its importance, I do not wish to leave anything out. So I will leave the verses below for you read and then we will get back into our discussion afterward. This encounter happened after Elijah told Ahab, the wicked king of Israel at the time. He was having the people bow down to Baal, of which God’s wrath was upon him. Even he caused a drought to come into the land because of his sins. This leads us to this encounter with a widow and her son, but I pray that you will read this entire chapter as well for context purposes. It reads…

11 Kings 17:8-24 (KJV)
8 And the word of the Lord came unto him, saying,
9 Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.
10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.
11 And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.
12 And she said, As the Lord thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.
13 And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.
14 For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth.
15 And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.
16 And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake by Elijah.
17 And it came to pass after these things, that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick; and his sickness was so sore, that there was no breath left in him.
18 And she said unto Elijah, What have I to do with thee, O thou man of God? art thou come unto me to call my sin to remembrance, and to slay my son?
19 And he said unto her, Give me thy son. And he took him out of her bosom, and carried him up into a loft, where he abode, and laid him upon his own bed.
20 And he cried unto the Lord, and said, O Lord my God, hast thou also brought evil upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son?
21 And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried unto the Lord, and said, O Lord my God, I pray thee, let this child’s soul come into him again.
22 And the Lord heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.
23 And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother: and Elijah said, See, thy son liveth.
24 And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that thou art a man of God, and that the word of the Lord in thy mouth is truth.

So as you’ve read, we see God performing two miracles for this lady and her son. #1, because she willfully gave the food and drink that she only had for her and her son to Elijah, her food and drink would not run out until the drought was over. #2, her son fell ill to the point of death, where because of Elijah’s great faith and prayer to God, God responded in a big way and raised him back up to life. Then, she knew in her heart that Elijah was a man of God. This is important to note because there are a lot of counterfeit Christians out there as well. I am not saying that God heals every person we pray over, but our faith that God will is important still. We simply put these people that we pray healing over in God’s hands and He does the rest. Like what happened with the woman with cancer that was healed, when I prayed over her. Last year a man was deaf in one ear and he was healed as well when I and two other men of God put our hands on him and prayed. That message is here. Now, if there is something important to take away from this message is that the Lord God still heals today. This may not be talked about much because of doubt in people’s hearts, but He still uses people of faith to do His miracles on this earth. I knew this before these miracles happened, and know this even more so now. Take a leap for God and start walking in His ways and He will also do miracles through you.

Let us pray:
Oh lord, I pray that people will see the miracles in the Bible and wonder if this can still happen today. This fascination in itself is good for the soul, for it leaves people to pray to You, in order for things like they have read to happen today. If we had not had the great examples of faith in the Bible, while these men of faith performed miracles by Your mighty hand, we may not be so brave to do the same today. Even doubt and fear would enter our hearts, as men and women, instead of boldness. This was my life for a couple of years until I started to go out on the streets with people who not only believed in Your healing power, but have seen it take place first hand in theirs’s and other people’s lives. I am grateful for You putting these men in my life, for their faith has led me to also believe the same and also perform Your miracles as I pray now. What I have learned is that You are simply waiting for people to step up to the plate and be used by You. Then, many miracles will flow out of them by Your hand. Surely, we are only Your vessel in bringing not only Your truth to people, but also to showcase Your power. Even my faith has been increased exponentially just because You did a miraculous work that nobody else can explain, through the healing that You performed through me. I just wish that more people would also trust in You, then they would also have these amazing encounters in their lives. What it takes are people that are selfless, and who care for the needs of others. All the selfishness and self-seeking desires need to be destroyed, in order for You to bless others through them. Even our love for our neighbor and our enemies needs to be alive and active in us, for You to showcase this type of love, peace, and hope into another person’s life. I love You, Lord. You are mighty in every form of the Word. I honor You and give You great glory this day and forever. Amen.
