Teach The Truth, While Not Being Accusatory

One thing we know about Elihu is that he was a steward of God’s Word. It also appears that He loved God and hated evil. He even knew so much about God that he said the following… 1“Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom. He preserveth not the life of the wicked: but giveth right to the poor. He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous: but with kings are they on the throne; yea, he doth establish them for ever, and they are exalted.” (Job 36:5-7) 1“He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity. If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures. But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.” (Job 36:10-12) 1“He delivereth the poor in his affliction, and openeth their ears in oppression.” (Job 36:15) 1“Behold, he spreadeth his light upon it, and covereth the bottom of the sea. For by them judgeth he the people; he giveth meat in abundance.” (Job 36:30,31) These verses are so beautiful and are of God. They speak of God’s might and power. How He is the creator and we are to obey Him. If we pour in spirit, then He will listen to us and give us wisdom. In this, he also counsels us when we fall into sin, that we may depart from evil. And if we obey God and not sin, then He will prosper us. Meaning, His blessings will pour out upon us all our days that are found seeking Him and not the world. We are to be separate from the ways of the wicked. Otherwise, we are not His followers.

Now, Elihu also spoke the following to Job, assuming he was in sin and needed to turn from it. He said, 1“But thou hast fulfilled the judgment of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold on thee. Because there is wrath, beware lest he take thee away with his stroke: then a great ransom cannot deliver thee. Will he esteem thy riches? no, not gold, nor all the forces of strength. Desire not the night, when people are cut off in their place. Take heed, regard not iniquity: for this hast thou chosen rather than affliction. Behold, God exalteth by his power: who teacheth like him? Who hath enjoined him his way? or who can say, Thou hast wrought iniquity? Remember that thou magnify his work, which men behold. Every man may see it; man may behold it afar off. Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.” (Job 36:17-26) He explained that Job had gone the way of the wicked and God is just in judging him for what he has done. That his riches won’t help him. Therefore, he was called to not continue in his iniquity any longer but repent. God is great and is able to forgive us when we sin. Did Job sin before God? It doesn’t say that he does in scripture, except for people who said he did. My takeaway of this is that only God knew Job’s circumstances. Should people have treated him as someone who sinned against God? Absolutely not, for it doesn’t mean that we have sinned when we have fallen into hardship. God knows what happens in our lives and why. So go forth and continue to seek Jesus daily, that you may not go astray.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that people will remember You all their days. That people will understand that doing Your will one time a week does not make them Your disciple. Lord, help people know that abiding in the things of this world is evil. That we are to be separate and only through Your presence in our lives can we achieve this. Lord, You make us different. We cannot flee iniquity on our own, but only if we start abiding in You each day. Lord, be with us always. Help us gain Your understanding and begin to distinguish what is true and what is false. Lead us far from sin and into Your light. I need You, Lord. Be my teacher at all times in my life and help me to always know Your ways and not my own. Help me to be a wise teacher and not a person who treats other people with animosity or disrespect. I want to share the truth of the gospel, but do not wish to skew the importance of it or change it in any way. May the simplicity of the gospel be upon my lips when I speak. And please call more people in the faith to walk in it. I know that You have done this before, but these people who have resisted You need to be awakened from their sleep. Too many people are on the path that leads to destruction and need to be made aware of this before it is too late. I wish to see more people be saved and come to know You as their personal Savior, Jesus. You are mighty to save and I love You. I give You glory and praise, this day and forever. May Your Name be glorified and lifted up high. Amen.
