God Answered Job: Part 3

In Job, chapter 40, God spoke the following to Job and then allowed him to answer Him. “Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.” (Job 40:2) And in Job’s humility, he said, “behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth. Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.” (Job 40:4.5) Can you imagine God coming to You after crying out to Him, even in your anger? Well, this is exactly what happened to Job. He was very unhappy about his circumstances and why people were treating him so badly and let God know. Now, after Job said what he did, God said, “gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me. Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous? Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him? Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.” (Job 40:7-10) This is wise counsel from God, so pay close attention. God told Job to stand up tall like a man. He told him to stop getting upset with, while rebuking Him. That he is unable to cancel God’s judgments upon him and others, though he may try. Trying to condemn God, while thinking Job is righteous would be foolish. So after all this, God did not strike him down but told him to put on God’s majesty and excellency. Even to be clothed with His glory and beauty. Are people doing this now? Or does living in God’s holiness even matter to them or even you?

God continued and spoke the following to Job, “cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him. Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place. Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret. Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.” (Job 40:11-14) Now, although God told Job to put on His glory and beauty, he needed to first do a few things on his own, like we all need to do. He needed to give up his rage, meaning his anger and any walls he has put up against people. Even those people who are proud and cannot speak kindly to Job, he should speak out against them, that they may be humbled. May every person that is proud in their own eyes be brought low before God. The wicked may be upset, but Job needed to go forth and defeat the enemy. In our fight against the wicked, many of them will die in their sins. This is when God will bind them and cast them into hell. We know that we are not to kill anyone, but that God is able to kill both body and soul, even at any age. Surely, how old we are now does not matter. If we are defiant against God, our soul may be required of us and we will pay the consequences in hell. Then after the great white throne judgement, they will be thrown into the lake of fire. Lastly, God told Job that if he does what He says and lives for Him, then his own hand will save him. And this means that our faith in Christ saves us. If we did nothing, then we would continue to be lost, but doing things for God shows our salvation.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I ask that You come inside of me now. Fill me up with the Holy Spirit. Give me over to Your teachings, that I might know Your will and do as You say. Teach me, God. I love You, Jesus, and only want to please You. Make Your home inside my heart, this day and forever. Cast out of me anything that is wicked and vile. I am ready to go forth and fulfill Your plan for my life. I know that Your ways are higher, so do a work that has never been done. Even a mighty work inside of me. Clothe me with Your majesty and excellency. Array me with Your glory and beauty. Let there be no more self-righteousness and only Your righteousness that abounds in me. Light up my life that all the world will see me and glory You, Father in heaven. Don’t let this flame die out. There is a burning in my soul to serve You, and I will go forth and tell everyone about You, Jesus. All I desire is to see more people be saved and go to heaven. Hell is filling up fast, but that can stop with this generation of people. If there were just more people who could light up this world with me, then a revival would occur all around the globe. Then, people would realize how their lust and all their sins are only destroying them. If people could just know how they are affecting You when they sin, then, would they fall down on their knees and repent. I pray that this will happen in so many more people’s lives. That people will come to know You, Jesus, personally, and be saved. This I pray, in Your mighty Name, Jesus. Amen.
