Why I Witness

There is a reason why I evangelize on the streets and do mission trips twice a year with a friend. It is not for show or to lift myself up, but to bring souls unto Christ. Jesus said to “go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” (Mark 16:15-18) And I have responded to His calling for my life. I may have a full-time job doing IT Work for different counties, but my real calling is to be a witness for Jesus in all the world. I love to lead people to know Jesus for the first time, lead them back to Jesus if they have gone astray, and to help every person know that Jesus is alive, no matter what they now believe. That Jesus did come down to this earth, in order to pay the penalty for our sin the cross. Therefore, He bled and died and suffered, that we might be forgiven of our sins and find mercy. Even the third day after Jesus died and was buried, He rose again. And because He rose, we can have newness of life in Him. This happens in baptism, when Jesus puts the Holy Spirit in us, that we may begin to walk as He walked. We don’t willfully sin anymore, but abide in Jesus, that we might walk in His righteousness. This is what I share with others, and many people have come to Jesus. Praise the Lord. All the glory to God.

Jesus said the following in a parable, which we must all learn to understand… “What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost. I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.” (Luke 15:3-7) And this is the biggest reason why I witness. I know that out of the hundreds of people I talk, that there will be a few people who will respond to Jesus’s calling for their lives. Even if one person out of a hundred was interested and gave their life to Jesus, then I have done God’s will. This is when I do go home rejoicing and praising God. For that person was lost among the wicked people of this world and is now found. Sin and false beliefs had wrecked their life for all this time, and now they understand how far they have fallen. In unknowing this, they have humbled themselves enough to confess their sins and to allow Jesus to be the Lord of their lives. When this happens, nothing else could make me happier. Even by spreading the gospel one-to-one witnessing, in preaching, sharing gospel tracts, praying with and leading them in prayer, and feeding the homeless, is also so wonderful. This is doing God’s will as if Jesus was here, but He is in us.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that more people will make a decision to become Your witnesses. The harvest is ripe, but only a few people are willing to get out of their comfort zone, in order to bring lost souls unto You. I love to go out on the streets and bring the good news of the gospel to people, but I cannot reach everyone who passes by me. And this brings me to tears some days, knowing that there may never be another opportunity like this again to reach them. I wish that more people would be led out of this darkened world and allow Your light to encompass them. The luxuries of this world cannot do any good for people’s souls but only lead them astray. I’ve learned this the hard way and am so glad that You opened my eyes to my sins and false beliefs before it was too late. I am so grateful for Your mercy. You paid the price for our sins on the cross and this is better than the cure to cancer, for we have the cure to life after death. Where people can be led into Your presence with no guilt upon their faces, and with a clean conscience. Truly, You have taught us, Jesus, about heaven and hell, and I only wish that people would go to heaven. There is a place You are preparing for everyone who loves and honors You, and I wish that more people would make You the Lord of their lives. Then, would their souls be rescued from the bonds of death and destruction. I love You, Lord. May the lost be found this weekend, as I go out on the streets in this mission trip to Salt Lake City with my friend Patrick Roy. Lead us to the lost. Do mighty things in us and through us, that Your power will be on full display. I believe in You. I trust in You. Amen.
