Jesus’s Birth: Luke 1: Mary Rejoiced In Her Son

My favorite verses when it comes to Jesus’s birth comes from Luke, chapter 1. This is when Mary was filled with the Holy Spirit and rejoiced in her Son, Jesus. Each time I read what she said, I am uplifted once again in the Spirit also. It is written, “and Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name. And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation. He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree. He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away. He hath helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy; As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever.” (Luke 1:46-55) Isn’t this so amazing? There is so much to cover here and I pray that I will give these verses justice. And before I begin, just know that my soul also rejoices in Jesus, my God, and my Savior. He has also regarded my lowly state, who was in darkness but still has brought into His abundant light. I may not be called blessed like Mary was, but I know that I am blessed to be saved by the hand of Jesus, my Savior, my God, and my dear friend. God has done great things in my life, of which I give Him praise.

Holy is the Name of the Lord God Almighty. His Name is Jesus and I give Him praise and honor, this day and forever. His mercy endures forever for those that fear Him from generation to generation. Amen. There is strength in the arm of the Lord. The proud have no chance, for they are scattered abroad in all their pride and unbelief. Those people who think they are something important are brought down in humility in this life or the next. In the judgment, people who continued to sin and did not repent will be brought to their knees, having wished that they could have a do-over and give their lives to Jesus while they had time. Every person who exalts themselves will be brought low. “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” (Hebrews 10:31) Jesus is the only person who can save us in this life. Those who are hungry and thirsty for truth, and a change of life, will He come into them and do great things. Many people who are rich cannot understand the need to submit to Him, for it may mean giving up things they don’t wish to. Therefore, many people like this go away empty, for they missed their opportunity to follow Jesus no matter what the cost. Jesus has helped His people Israel, by showing them His mercy. His people may have caused Him to be crucified, but He loves them still. Jesus did speak to the prophets of old, for He is the great “I Am”. All this did Mary speak of her Son while she was filled up with the Holy Spirit. I am amazed. Amen and Amen to what she said.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that people will be drawn to know You like I and millions of others have. It is a blessing to be safe in Your arms and not to have to worry about the enemy having His way in my life. You are the light that guides me and I give You praise and honor, this day and forever. Nothing else can satisfy my soul like You have and will continue to do so. I wish I could see You in person and spend my time with You forevermore, but I know that this time will come soon enough. I just pray that I will be found waiting on You and doing what You say when You do come. I am Yours and I pray that you will continually know this through my everyday actions. You are my Shepherd, Jesus. Wherever You will call me to, I will go. I will follow You. There is nothing else I’d rather do than to be led by Your hand. Thank You for rescuing me. You have made known Your kindness and grace upon me and I am so grateful. Only You could look past my sins and see the potential that was left in my life. I knew that I could not do much to come out of the darkness I was in, but knew that You could help me. And I am grateful that You did hear my prayers. In my tears did You come and bring peace to my soul. I was hungry and thirsty for something greater in this life and You delivered. It is awesome to know that I do not have to worry about constant guilt or shame anymore, for with You in my life I am stronger to resist temptation. Your mercy does endure forever. Thank You, Jesus. I love You much. Until we talk again. Amen.
