Would You Let Jesus Dine With You?

What would you do if Jesus came to you and asked if He could dine with you? Would you say, “of course, Lord, come into my house and stay as long as you’d like!” Or would you say, “Lord, I my house is not in order right now, please come back in a few hours or days when it is ready?” Or would you say, “Lord, I feel unworthy to be in your presence, please come back when I feel ready?” As you can see, not everybody is on the same path with God. Some people are doing His will and are always ready for the Lord to enter into their house, while others are not ready and need to get things in order first. Even others are so distant that they would feel unworthy just to be around Him. How about your life? Where do you stand with God? I ask this since Jesus asked the same to Peter as He is asking of us the same thing today. It is written, “Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken. Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine. And none of the disciples durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord. Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise.” (John 21:11-13) How wonderful a time this would be to dine with our Lord, God, and Savior.

Now, what Jesus asked Peter is very important for us to think about also. This is what took place, as it is written. “So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs. He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep. He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.” (John 21:15-17) So how would you answer Jesus’s questions if they were for you right now at this moment? Would you be able to say that you really love Him by how you are living your life right now? The time will come when we will come before Jesus, our God, in judgment, and He will know exactly how we feel about Him. Unfortunately, at that time it will be too late to live a life that truly loves Him. So come to Jesus now and start doing His will. Then, will He know that He is loved. This is true faith and unto salvation.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that people will begin to open up their lives now more than ever. Yes, Jesus, there are so many people straddling the fence as we speak. They have one foot in Your kingdom and the other foot in the wickedness of this world. But if they knew better, they would go all-in for You. There would be no more living our lives for You when we want to, but not other times. Each day would be the beginning of another day to serve You, even more than ever. This is the type of life that is truly saved, which is all I want to be apart of in my life also. I have had enough of the things of this world that are evil to know that there is no happiness in the end. There is only guilt and shame that comes with anything the flesh sees as pleasure apart from You. And to be in Your presence now is so amazing. I love to have You near. It is like You are really here in person, which is the most amazing thing ever. Surely, if You were in my midst, I would run to You and say please come in and dine with me and my family. Stay as long as You want, for You are my God and my King. I honor You, Lord. No matter where life is leading me, to have you in my life makes me stronger in the end. I can do all things with You by my side. I am full of boldness and am courageous to fight the battles. Thank You, Jesus. I love You. You know my heart and it is for You. Have Your way in my life. I praise You. Amen.
