The Importance Of The Resurrection

It is vital to understand and know without a doubt that Jesus rose from the grave or else our faith is in vain. It doesn’t matter what we thought we knew or studied in scripture, without that one event, we would be stuck in our sins without a Savior. That is why we do know, as Christians, that Jesus died for our sins and also rose from the grave on the third day. We cannot have one event without the other, lest we believe in vain. All this is supported in what Paul spoke to the Corinthians. He wrote, “for if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.” (1 Corinthians 15:16-19) So, my friends, do you know that Jesus rose from the grave? I hope so, for Your salvation depends on it. I know that Jesus is alive, but You must also believe this for a fact, in order to be saved yourself. Without believing in a risen Lord, you believe in vain like every other false religion that has it’s own gods to sustain them in this life. However, after this life, they will know that none of those things helped them come judgment day. It is true that we must pass through the risen Jesus, who sits on the throne in judgment, in order to go to heaven. If not, then the lake of fire is our final destination. So trust in the risen Jesus and He will not let you down.

Paul also said, “but now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming. Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.” (1 Corinthians 15:20-24) Jesus has risen from the grave. Paul was just one of many people who saw the Lord Jesus after He had already risen from the grave. But he was not alone. It is true that Jesus “was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.” (1 Corinthians 15:4-7) There were many people who saw Jesus in the times of the Bible and since that time also. I have even seen and heard Jesus’s voice in visions. Praise God. One day, as promised, myself and other people who are the elect of God will rise unto eternal life to be with Jesus on the new earth and new heaven. Our king will be with us for all eternity. I can’t wait for that day. I long to be with Jesus. Amen.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that we will all come to the knowledge that You rose from the grave. Yes, Jesus, I am referring to You, my dear Lord and Savior. I pray and worship You because I know that You are alive and can hear every prayer throughout this world and in every place. You are the mediator between us and God. Thank You for Your mighty hand in my life and others. I trust in You, Jesus. There is nothing in this world that I’d rather have than to be led by Your mighty hand. So I come to You in thanksgiving. I praise Your holy Name. There is no one like You, God. You are my deliverer and the only one who has the power to conquer the grave. Your great power and authority are greater than what we could ever understand. What is amazing is that You could save a wretch like me and give me new life. Thank You, Jesus. Your forgiveness is what I need to go on in life. There is no more depression or guilt, for You have me in Your arms. One day, as You have promised, I will be risen from the grave to be with You. What a day that will be. I cherish the thought of just being there in Your presence. Therefore, I live each day to know and serve You better. I will be ready when You call my name. This life is so short and soon I will be with You. Until then, keep my eyes fastened upon what is meaningful in life. Don’t allow me to drift apart from You because of sin and temptation, but build me up in Your armor, that I might never forsake You. I love You, Lord. I trust in You. Amen.
