God’s Wisdom Is For us

God is always speaking to every type of person who prays and reads the Bible. Even to people who are a supervisor, director, and/or manager at a workplace. These types of individuals are instructed to be just and equal to all their employees. This means giving people the wages they deserve and treating each person with respect. Even forgiving employees who make a mistake that was not intentional. There is much more that God would teach them, but they must hearken unto God for His counsel and wisdom first. In Colossians, chapter 4, starting in verse 1 it reads, “masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven. Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds: That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.” (Colossians 4:1-4) To know God’s will, we must be in constant prayer, knowing that He is also our master and should be directing our paths as well. It is also important to pray for others and not just ourselves. Then will God see your love for others and pour into you His wisdom.

We are to also pray for our pastors, elders, bishops, teachers, and evangelists. That when they open their mouths in the church and without, they may speak through the Holy Spirit. While in prayer, God’s wisdom does pour into our lives. However, without walking in the knowledge that God gives us, it shows we don’t really care for what He wants to tell us and direct us in. Therefore, do as Paul directed and “walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.” (Colossians 4:5,6) This is very important to understand. We need to always remember to think before we speak. There are people who hear what we say and feel terrible afterward. That is why it is important to speak with God’s wisdom at all times. And if you don’t have anything good to say, then don’t speak at all. God wants to help you speak to people correctly, so listen to God, that He may help you. The Lord, our God, wants to direct your paths, but you must let Him in your life first. This means, redeeming the time each day, which is making God first and everything else second. So making time to read the Bible daily, praying often, and doing what He says, shows God that you really love Him. Amen.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that we will do unto others as You would do unto them. As we would desire to be treated, that we would treat one another in the same way. Help us to speak with Your love, kindness, and respect, along with Your great power. I do not wish to offend anyone by things I may speak negatively. Therefore, help me to remember to always think before I speak. Even with a prayer in my heart, especially for situations that are difficult. I do this all for You, Father. Thank You, God, for everything You have done and will do in my life. I am so grateful that You have come into my life, in order to save me. I still do not understand why You chose me among the millions of others. Why I am important in Your eyes. All I know is that I was lost and You found me. I was lost in my sins and You delivered me from the darkness and into Your light. Guilt and shame were heavy upon my heart and my mind, but You took it all and brought me rest and peace. Thank You, Lord, for Your forgiveness and mercy. I am not perfect, but Your presence helps me live up to Your standards. Therefore, to gain Your wisdom is vital to my life now. I love the Bible and reading it daily helps me learn what You truly desire. You have spoken to me through Your words and in prayer, and I will follow You. I love You. Amen.

  1. It is extremely important and extremely vital and extremely essential to follow the Holy Spirit in all that we do and say. That way, we say things correctly, avoid offending others unnecessarily and pushing others away from the Lord Jesus Christ, preach with power and speak with the wisdom of the Lord God so that he can and will draw people to Himself, convict them of their sins, convert him to His gospel, pardon all of their sins, grant them new life, ultimately save them from hell and the Lake of Fire and Outer Darkness and welcome them into heaven. God bless Paul Gee for this devotional and God bless him for all his devotionals!
