Thankful For All God’s Witnesses

As Paul was in his time, I am also so grateful for the people now who go out on the streets and witness the truths of Jesus with people. I am also so grateful for all the pastors, elders, and teachers who are in church each week giving God’s message to the people. This is God’s calling to us and people are doing exactly what He wants. Praise God. It was Paul who also wrote the following about the people in his time. He said, “we give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers; Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father; Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God. For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost.” (1 Thessalonians 1:2-6) Isn’t it so wonderful to see the account of the people in the early church? These people truly believed in what they heard about Jesus and spread the good news of the gospel to everyone they met. This meant the world to them that their Messiah did come and because of His atoning sacrifice on the cross, forgiveness, and salvation have been opened up to all the world, even the gentiles. And so they went and spread the gospel.

In the time of Paul and the early church, there were other people who were hearers only, but others did do as people are doing now and witnessing God’s truths with others. They saw the need for God to save people, even gentiles, and to bring as many of them as they can to Christ. Paul even spoke of them and said, “so that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia. For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing. For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.” (1 Thessalonians 1:7-10) This is such good news and the reason why we still have the church today. Since this time, people like Martin Luther and others have proclaimed the good news of the gospel to every nation tongue, and people. Even now people are turning people’s hearts from idols, like before, to Christ who saves. We have people who go on the streets who don’t get paid a thing, in order to be a shining light for Jesus in what they say and preach. The Lord has even called me to be His witness and I am so grateful for that gifting. May you also be led to evangelize to those who are lost. Amen.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that You will raise up more evangelists, teachers, pastors, elders, and other willing servants for Your church. There is so much more that could be getting accomplished if more people were serving You in Your kingdom. Each time I go to YouTube and see different people on the streets sharing the gospel with others, passing out tracts, and praying with people, I am so happy inside. Even the times I go on the streets and people join me in my efforts to reach the lost, my heart burns with gladness. This is because leading people to know You, Jesus, is the greatest calling we could ever have on this earth. To see more people be saved in Your kingdom is what makes me happy. Salvation only comes through following You, Jesus, and not religion. For this reason, do I proclaim this truth of the gospel to the world. I pray that people’s eyes and ears would be open to accepting what You have already said in scripture, instead of what they have been taught in their church or religion. I fear that people are being led by the doctrines of men, and if they do not understand this in their lifetime, then they could also be on a slippery slope to hell. This grieves my heart to know that people could unknowingly die and go to hell, when they thought they were going to heaven the entire time. But I pray, Lord, that more people will turn to You alone, Jesus, for salvation before their time is up. I believe in You. I trust in You, God. I love You. Amen.
