The Fifth Seal Is Opened

The fifth seal in the Book of Revelation is one of the saddest and also one of the most amazing verses I’ve seen. We see that when this seal is opened, we get a glimpse at all the many souls who have lost their lives for the sake of the gospel. This began after Jesus rose from the grave and when people began to preach the gospel in all the world. As we know over the centuries, Christians have been tortured and killed for their faith. Some being crucified, burned to death, killed by hanging, guillotine, stabbed, shot, and more. But in all this, their faith remained true. Because they could not deny that Jesus is their Lord and Savior, it was better to live and die for Christ than to live for a while longer and lose their souls. Speaking of this seal, when these saints of God are revealed, let us now read a portion of these verses. “And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? (Revelation 6:9,10) These verses bring tears to my eyes, just knowing all the pain they went through. But know this, my friends, that in the end times, more people will lose their life for the sake of Jesus. The question is, if you were in this situation would you deny Jesus and live or die in your faith in Jesus. Make this choice today.

The verses in Revelation, chapter 6 continues and reads, “and white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.” (Revelation 6:9-11) So we learn that every person who lost their life for the sake of Christ was given white robes and also able to rest for a little season. What I am seeing is paradise, where a type of rewards judgment has been made upon these souls already. They no longer suffer in this wonderful place and are able to stand out among the rest because of their white robes, for sure. All we know from these verses is that they will have to wait here until Jesus returns to the earth. This is because the remainder of God’s faithful will also die before Jesus’s return. Some dying a normal death and others being killed for their faith. All I know is that people who die wrongfully, while losing their lives because of wicked people, they will also wonder when their blood will be avenged like the others have said under the altar of the Father. But to these other people, they will be given white robes like the former, and also be in a place where there is rest for their souls. Praise God! I know that I love the Lord, Jesus, and if I am supposed to die a violent death for Him, is still to be seen. But if it happens like this or a normal death for me, I will die with Christ. He is my Lord and my Savior. Amen.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that people will remain faithful to You. You are my God and I worship You. I am willing to live and die for my faith in You, Jesus. I love You so much, that dying for the one I love will be worth it in the long run. Each year I go on mission trips to Utah and evangelism efforts on the streets. Doing this isn’t always safe, but risky at times. But in every moment that I am out in Your harvest, the Holy Spirit is so strong. This has surely been the greatest moments and achievements in my life until now. Nothing is outdone by this, except for meeting my wife and my two daughter’s births. My family does mean a lot to me, but You mean more to me, God. If I was to leave You behind, then I would be leaving my first love. You had me from the moment I read the Bible and began to pray. These times, while in Your presence have been very enlightening. And best of all is when I am out in the harvest and You are doing all the leading and the talking. I want more of this type of work in my life. It is not baseless works, but God-like works through You. Truly, these are the fruits of a person’s salvation, and I don’t wish to leave them behind. Instead, I wish that You would continue and conform my life more for Your kingdom. If there are greater things in store for me, make them known to me and my family. I am all in for You, Jesus, and for the kingdom. I love You, Lord. Amen.
