The Seventh Seal Is Opened

The seventh seal starts off with silence in heaven. This silence is much like a moment of silence that we see at a special event or when someone dies, but much longer in a place that is normally very busy. We then see seven very important angels who were given trumpets. And another angel who was seen standing at an altar where he was holding a container with incense. He used this incense, along with all the prayers of the saints. This could mean the saints who are now raptured up in heaven, which are praying, or their prayers while they were on earth. But whatever time this is, just know that your prayers are very important to God and the angels in heaven. John wrote on this and said, “and when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour. And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets. And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.” (Revelation 8:1-3)

God loves it when we pray, especially sincere and heartfelt prayers. We can see this with the incense used in conjunction with our prayers. Just imagine seeing the smoke from the prayers ascend before God’s throne. In that altar was fire, of which the angel took and filled his container and then poured it upon the earth. This fire is capable of causing thunderings, lightnings, and earthquakes. These are the signs of the wrath to come upon the earth by the seven angels. Lastly, John spoke on this and said, “and the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand. And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake. And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.” (Revelation 8:4-6) My friends, keep seeking Jesus, and you will be safe in these very trying and fearful times. To be raptured up before destruction is poured out upon the earth is our best option here. And with God, we will be caught up, while being protected. Amen.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that You will become our protector in the storms of life. Help us to learn to rest in Your presence even when things are out of control. You make all things right. Even when things don’t seem to be going our way, You give us guidance and direction, which helps us go forth in faith. The enemy likes to put doubts in our hearts during the hardest times, but that is easily overcome when we come to You in heartfelt prayer. Surely, the darkness that Satan puts in our lives because of sin, You are able to kick to the curb. I have seen You do great things in my life, and I am so grateful. You have come and scattered the darkness, and if there is light in my life now, it is all because of You. I am safe in Your loving arms, God. I trust in You. Lord, take me home when my life comes to an end. Don’t let go any other direction but to You when I die. In this life, there are vast temptations, but nothing is stronger than You in our lives. We can overcome all things that come our way from the enemy because You are our shield. I love You, Lord. Help me in every area of my life. I give You everything. Have Your way now and forever. I praise You, my King. Amen.
