New Jerusalem: What It Will Be Like

The New Jerusalem should be the place that every believer in Jesus wishes they could enter after this life. However, people who are able to enter are true believers. They will be able to pass through and not those who only loved the Lord and did what He said for a season. In the new earth, the New Jerusalem will come down from heaven, having God therein. If you love the Lord, then you will want to be a part of this magnificent and holy city. Just know that there will be no temple therein, for the Father and the Son are the temple. We will look up and see no sun or moon, but it will be lit from the glory of the Father and the Son. It is written, “and the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass. And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.” (Revelation 21:21-23) These streets will be paved with gold. Only the best for our God and His people therein. I believe we will be surprised who we will see there, but know that they may be surprised to see us there also. We all are on our own journey with God and He knows who is for Him before we die and who is not.

There will be nations of people that are saved. I am talking about people of every skin color, and language, but in this place we will all understand each other. And the amazing thing is, we won’t be tired, although it will never get dark. The light we had with Christ on earth, we will also bring it into this place. It is God’s glory in us that we bring. However, we have a warning from God that any person who dies in their sins will not enter. These are those who defile themselves because of sexual sin, do works that are abominable, homosexuality and abortion, and those who can’t stop lying. It is important to understand that our names must be written in the book of life to enter this holy place. It is written, “and the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it. And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.” (Revelation 21:24-27) Now, please get right with God if you have not already. Your salvation and being able to enter New Jerusalem are dependent upon this. Amen.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, help us to do what is right. May we live for You and not the flesh. The flesh is weak, but You make us strong to resist temptation. I wish I could say that I have been perfect since giving my life over to You, Jesus, but I know I would be lying. I am just like everyone else who is a sitting duck to the enemy if I don’t have Your presence in my life. That is why I fall victim to Satan’s lies and feel so shameful afterward. Truly, I wish I had not done many things in my life since giving my life to You, and pray that You will forgive me. Lord, give me clean hands and a pure heart. Help me not do things that defile the flesh, of which takes days and sometimes weeks to get back on track again. I don’t wish to have anything that is dark enter my life again, for my body is Your holy temple. Cast out anything that is contrary to Your will and usher in Your light abundant. Take my own desires now and conform them to Yours. Change my thoughts and help them be conformed to Yours also. Do a work inside of me, that people all around me will not help but see You, Jesus, in me. Lead me from temptation. Give me the power to resist what is evil. I give You glory and praise. I love You, Lord. I trust in You. Amen.
