Do You Seek The Lord Daily?

The one thing that I wonder about people who call themselves Christians is if they also seek the Lord daily in all that they do. What about the Bible? Do they read it daily or has it been weeks or months without picking it up? And what about prayer? Do they pray often or simply pray when they feel like they are in trouble and need answers? A saved person would say that the Bible is a light unto their feet and therefore cannot get enough of it. That is why they pick it up and read or listen to it daily. A saved person also prays not only over food each day but in their own personal prayers, and also times they pray with others. All this motivates a person to live a life fully surrendered to Jesus. Now, look at your life and think about your desires for the Bible and prayer. Instead of those things do you often go home from work and watch TV or videos, listen to music, play a game, or surf the web? Do other things take up your precious time instead of God? I ask this since the things you do in this life you will also desire to do in the next. So if you don’t enjoy doing God’s will here, then why would you want to in the next? A saved person lives each for the Lord, not somedays when they feel like it or have time. Think about this!

The God of the heavens is looking for people who truly live for Him. This is much more than church service, but what people are doing for the Lord outside those walls. Do you know what reading the Bible daily and praying often does to a person? It doesn’t make them self-righteous but selfless. These types of people are more likely to stop and help a homeless person, street evangelize, visit people in jails and nursing homes, do service for their neighbors, hold Bible studies, and much more. This is because in the service of God, the Lord I able to keep them busy for Him. This is not busywork that people hate, but a lifestyle that is seeking to bring heaven down to earth in all that they do. When Jesus taught us how to pray he mentioned something very important. It is written, “after this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:9,10) So in our prayers, we ask God that our desires will be His desires and that our works on earth will be done as if it is in heaven. Let this sync in and God will begin to conform your ways like unto His. May the Lord bless you as you seek the Lord daily. Amen.

Let us pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, may Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Conform my ways to be Your ways. Give me desires to fulfill Your will fully in my life. If I am not doing things that You wish I was doing now, then change me from the inside out. I don’t wish to live this life on my own again but with Your mighty hand lifting me up and guiding me every step of the way. Give me wisdom, Lord, that I might walk and not be weary. The Bible and Your words therein have become a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. I am safe when You are leading me every step of the way. All the anxiety I once had is swept away. Any pain is made light with Your hand in my life. You give me strength and encourage me to do better than ever before. Thank You for Your mercy and grace. I was dead, but am now alive. Your forgiveness has changed everything. Truly, Your blood that was shed for us on the cross, Jesus, has redeemed my soul from hell. I was heading their fast, but You took my hand and led me on Your straight and narrow path that leads to heaven. You are my Father and I am Your son. Lead me this day and the rest of my life. I trust in You, Lord. I believe in You, God. I love You. Amen.
