How To Build The Tabernacle: Part 3

As Moses was on Mount Sinai with the Lord, so much was said about the building of the tabernacle. Every detail was laid out in perfection from God to His people, Israel. Praise God that Moses was so diligent as to write down everything he heard from God while on the mountain. One thing he wrote down that many Christians don’t comprehend comes from verse 21 in chapter 27 of Exodus. Let’s read that verse, starting with verse 19, and understand its true meaning together. It is written, “all the vessels of the tabernacle in all the service thereof, and all the pins thereof, and all the pins of the court, shall be of brass. And thou shalt command the children of Israel, that they bring thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamp to burn always. In the tabernacle of the congregation without the vail, which is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall order it from evening to morning before the Lord: it shall be a statute for ever unto their generations on the behalf of the children of Israel.” (Exodus 27:19-21) What was done in the tabernacle corresponds perfectly with the spotless Lamb, who is Jesus, who came to take away the sins of the world. There may no longer be a tabernacle, but it doesn’t mean that its importance has not continued from generation to generation.

You might be wondering, but how can this be since there are no tabernacles on earth, or even a working temple found in Jerusalem any longer. And here is the reason why the statutes of the tabernacle would still be kept for every generation. The reason is, God is without time and space. His tabernacle was taken from the earth with Jesus’s coming. However, it is now in heaven. We would know by reading in Revelation, chapter 15. Speaking of the angels, “and they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints. Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest. And after that I looked, and, behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened.” (Revelation 15:3-5) The tabernacle has continued from every generation in heaven, but God’s laws have continued to be implanted in our hearts. Those that fear Him also obey what is spoken in God’s Word. Jesus said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” (John 14:15) God loves us so much as to guide us in the right way. It is up to us to respond and obey Him. Amen.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, thank you for this day and every day that I have lived up until now. I am on solid ground, having You as the light that guides me. I love Your guidance and direction. Each time I listen and obey Your voice I am so much better off. I am no longer alone in this darkened world, for You have taken my hand and brought me on the straight and narrow path that leads to heaven. I don’t want anything else but things that will help lead me to where You are, God. I know that there are many counterfeits out there with false gospels, false prophets, and false Christs. Help me to not be drawn to churches or people that are not really for You. Your sheep hear Your voice and I am so grateful to be among them. You have taken a wretch like me while molding and shaping me into the person I am today. Every sin has been covered by Your blood. Every worry about me not matching up with what You want for me has vanished. All my doubts have been undone. You have given me steps to follow and I am safe in Your matchless presence. Lord, lead me now and forever in this life and the next. I want to be in heaven, but I know that my time is not up yet. Until then, use me for Your kingdom in a mighty way. All I desire is to lead people to know You, Jesus. I love You, Lord. I trust in You, God. Amen.
