Today’s Prayer (03/31/2022)

Oh Lord, I pray that people will remember the words that were spoken to Moses, which says to keep the Sabbath day holy and to rest from all our labors. I know that I need to remember this as much as anyone else. Thank You for giving me a job that only makes me work Monday through Friday, where I have the weekend to rest from my labors. This gives me so much more time to focus on You and not do things that don’t matter in the long run. In particular, I love to make Saturday the day of my rest for You. This is my Sabbath day. All I desire is to do Your will on this day. I know that during the week I come short so often, but on this day, I dedicate myself for You. I love to get into the Bible and study. You are with me in these times and give me wisdom as I read. In prayer, do I seek Your hand, that You may lead and guide me. Keep me on Your path, oh Lord. Not just on this day, but all the days of my life. I live this life to serve You. My life is dedicated to You and to fulfill Your calling in my life. Help me, Lord. I need You to be the one that guides me and speaks through me also. I love You, Lord. Amen.

Leviticus 16:29-31

Leviticus 16:29-31 (KJV)
29 And this shall be a statute for ever unto you: that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger that sojourneth among you:
30 For on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your sins before the Lord.
31 It shall be a sabbath of rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a statute for ever.
