Clean Or Unclean Before God?

It is important to live a life pleasing to God. Not to live a life that causes you to be unclean. Those who are righteous in God need Jesus as much as the wicked, but the righteous needs to learn humility, while the wicked needs to learn what it means to be obedient to God. Those who are humble can better do God’s will and those who are obedient to God are less likely to fall back into a sinful lifestyle. God’s people will remember Him and His holy Name and lift it up, while those coming to the Lord will remember to not profane it any longer. As we grow together in the faith, we will learn to respect God and hallow which is holy in His sight. It is important to understand that certain things in the world we live in make us unclean. Those things can be pornography, fornication, homosexuality, abortion, adultery, drugs, alcohol, cussing, lying, stealing, and much more. So it is important to understand that if we are tempted to do any one of those things it is not a sin. It is when we continue to think about whatever that is, then it becomes a sin over time. The action of doing these things is very sinful indeed.

The Lord God spoke the following to Moses, which gives clarity to what I said above. “And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, speak unto Aaron and to his sons, that they separate themselves from the holy things of the children of Israel, and that they profane not my holy name in those things which they hallow unto me: I am the Lord. Say unto them, Whosoever he be of all your seed among your generations, that goeth unto the holy things, which the children of Israel hallow unto the Lord, having his uncleanness upon him, that soul shall be cut off from my presence: I am the Lord.” (Leviticus 22:1-3) Thankfully, Jesus came and died for our sins. This means that we are not cut off from God because of our sins. We can be forgiven. The moment that we come to the Lord in all our confessions, there is mercy extended towards us freely. Of course, God is looking for a sincere heart. A person that is willing to submit to Him with all their heart, mind, and strength. It is then that He is able to transform their lives and sanctify them from within. His holiness then reigns through the Holy Spirit in us. Amen.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that we will become righteous in You. Nobody can become righteous on their own strength. If anyone says they are righteous and don’t have You in their life, then are they boasting in their pride. Lord, I know that pride comes before the fall, so help me to never be lifted up in my own strength. Who am I among the billions of people on this earth? I am like a sand in the sea, but I am still important nonetheless with You. Thank You for coming into my life and for not forsaking me. You could have very well cut me off a long time again. I was a willful sinner for many years of my life. Sexual sin almost destroyed me. Only You could come into my life and cleanse me of those sins. You took a heart of stone and transformed it into a heart that is beating for You. Thank You for dying for my sins, Jesus. I am sanctified in Your blood. You are the giver of all life on earth. I do not know how much time I have left, but what I do know is I will live for You until the ends of time. Endurance in trials can be hard for a season, but oh so worth it in the end. I love You more than anything else. Have Your way in me. Amen.
