Love Of Money

Being rich isn’t the problem, it is when people love their wealth, and possessions, and have little to do with God because of it.

1 Timothy 6:9-12

1 Timothy 6:9-12 (KJV)
9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

The Love Of Money

It is the love of money that causes many people to go astray and to seek after the things of the world instead of God.

1 Timothy 5:1-4

1 Timothy 5:1-4 (KJV)
1 Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren;
2 The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity.
3 Honour widows that are widows indeed.
4 But if any widow have children or nephews, let them learn first to shew piety at home, and to requite their parents: for that is good and acceptable before God.

1 Timothy 4:12-14

1 Timothy 4:12-14 (KJV)
12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

The Life Of A Christian

The life of a Christian should easily be seen among people in the faith and among unsaved people in the world.

1 Timothy 3:1-3

1 Timothy 3:1-3 (KJV) 1 This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. 2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; 3 Not given to wine, no striker, not

1 Timothy 2:1,2

1 Timothy 2:1,2 (KJV)
1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

1 Timothy 1:4,5

1 Timothy 1:4,5 (KJV)
4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.
5 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:

1 Timothy 4:12

1 Timothy 4:12 (KJV)
12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

The Role Of A Deacon

Every calling in Christ Church is all specified in detail in the Bible. Therefore, study God’s Word, in order to know His will.

1 Timothy 1:3,4

1 Timothy 1:3,4 (KJV)
3 As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,
4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.

Endless Genealogies

The time for keeping endless genealogies was done away with, with the Old Law. We now live for Christ each day, while in the faith.

1 Timothy 4:1,2

1 Timothy 4:1,2 (KJV)
1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

To Depart From The Faith

Even If we live many years for the Lord, but then depart from it because of our sins or unbelief, our salvation is lost in death.

1 Timothy 6:7-9

1 Timothy 6:7-9 (KJV)
7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

1 Timothy 2:9,10

1 Timothy 2:9,10 (KJV)
9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

Modesty And Purity For Men And Women

When it comes to fornication and adultery, men and women are both at fault here. It is true that women who wear skimpy outfits are in the wrong and defile their temples, which is of the living God.

1 Timothy 4:11,12

1 Timothy 4:11,12 (KJV)
11 These things command and teach.
12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

1 Timothy 4:7,8

1 Timothy 4:7,8 (KJV)
7 But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.
8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

Living For God Makes Us Different

God uses people in the faith that not only believe in Him, but also love Him with their whole hearts. This means that a person has sought out God, in order to know Him.

Follow Jesus And Not Prophets

Since Jesus is our mediator to the Father we can come to Him specifically in prayer, and no longer have to go through a man any longer for answers.
