Love Your Spouse

God has sent a perfect spouse for each of us. We need to cherish him or her. We should discover new ways to love our spouse every day. If our goal is to love God with all our heart then the same goal should be to tell our spouse several times a day that we love them. If we want to make it right with God we should also make a change in our marriage to do whatever it takes to make it stronger. If we desire to praise God through worship we should have a desire to lift our spouse up and let them know how special they are to us. If we are being obedient to God we should also do what we are supposed to around the house and be a good father and husband. If we desire to come closer to God in prayer we should also develop better communication skills with our spouse.

When the husband and wife both desire to have Jesus in their hearts the marriage will flourish. Jesus will take the discord that has been in our marriage and turn it into a selfless love for each other. His love will begin to fill our hearts when He is the center of our marriage. He will bring back the same love we had for our spouse the day we got married. He will restore peace and joy in our marriage. Let us seek His Holy love and let it guide us in our marriage. I pray that His love will be stronger in my marriage. That I can do the necessary things to truly love my wife.

Ephesians 5:22-29
22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.
23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.
24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,
26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word,
27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.
28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself.
29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.
