The New Walk As A Christian

The walk of a Christian is much different than the walk of somebody in the world. You see, our choices we make now is in accordance with God’s will and not the flesh any longer. And for this to happen, true Christians pray to the Lord often, that they may have His ever guidance in this lost world. Therefore, they are able to be led by the Holy Spirit. This helps them live differently, even in the holiness of God. For this to happen, we had to give up certain things that are sinful in nature, that the Spirit may abide in us. Paul spoke on this further and said, “therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.” (2 Corinthians 4:1,2) It is after we are forgiven by the blood of Jesus, of which He shed for us on the cross, that we are ready to renounce our old life and walk a new with Him at the head.

No matter what we were doing before we found Jesus, it is given up wholeheartedly if it went against God’s laws and commands. We do this, in order to show respect and honor to our most glorious and true King of the heavens. Paul also said, “but if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” (2 Corinthians 4:3-6) We know that Satan has blinded the eyes and ears of the lost people of this world. Therefore, we ought to shine forth that the darkness may scatter. Our desire to lead people to Jesus will make a difference in this fallen world. And in this new walk, God will be there every step of the way.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that once people find You, that they will read the Bible daily and stay in constant prayer. The temptations in this world can easily ensnare us if the Holy Spirit is not with us. And the best way we can stay in line with Your commands is to live for You. Yes, God, my greatest desire in life is to know You more each day and to follow Your commands. I am happier when I do Your will, while giving up things that are unnecessary. I love Your ways. Thank You for persevering the Bible also. The words on the pages just fly off and into my heart each time I read and listen to Your most holy words. Thank You for allowing us to have a roadmap to heaven, instead of letting us stumble through life while trying to find which road to take. I know that salvation can only come through You, Jesus. Therefore, I desire for You to open the gates to heaven to me and others that I reach in this life. Be with me always. Help me to stay focused on the prize that is set before me. You are my greatest joy and the love of my life. I worship and praise Your holy name, Lord. Amen.
